Dear all,

since some days my BL3500 doesnt work with my both "old" remotes BL5000 and BL7000 :-( There is NO problem with my third "new" remote the Beo5...

Some facts:

-BL3500 (its is a old LCC9000 with SW1.0) is connected via MCL to my BM4500

- Option is 4 (cause it stands in a large L-Room with the BM4500)

- option programming with the BL5000 and the BL7000 IS working!!!! but not more :-( (see my old thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/34858/258155.aspx#258155)

-i coded the Beo5 with the config tool, and all the funtions for the (linked) BL3500 are working corrrect. BEFORE i used the "new" coded Beo5 the first time, my "old" BL5000 worked together with the BL3500 ... just pressing LINK and RADIO (or the other sources)

Thanks in advance!

Michael

Problem solved!

i cheked the testmode 02 on the BL3500 (MENU 02 GO). Normally here are errors from the ML connection, but my system (BL3500 and BS4500) is connected via the older MCL. By pressing STOP you can clean all errors. After ths i opened the masterlinkgateway (MENU 03 GO) and closed it by pressing STOP. From this moment all the remotes (BL5000/7000) worked again with the BL3500 / LCS9000.

Unfortunely the problem was coming back today :-(

i did the same like yesterday, but it doesnt help. i cheked also the MCL Gateway on the BL3500 by pressing MENU 04 GO.

After switching my BL5000 in ONE-WAY-Modus (Audio) the remote is working with the BL3500 by pressing LINK+Source...

But what is the reason that the BL5000/7000 sometimes work and sometimes not in the two-way-modus with the BL3500??????

well, the BL7000 and the BL5000 are workig fine with the BL3500, but only in One-Way-Modus. Thats not fine :-(

I can't believe that it is the only way to run a BS4500 (BM4500 with 2-way) in combination with a BL3500 in a large room with two listen-zones, cause i had to renounce of the fine two-way function :-(

Do you have any ideas?

The BL3500 is a LCS900 with the first software. Maybe a update with a new pcb helps?

The BL3500 is connected via MCL to the BM4500. maybe a adapter MCL/ML and using the ML Input in the BL3500 helps?

Hi hafenkapitaen,

I too have BL5000s and a BL7000 that I love, although they have now stopped working in 2-way mode.

B&O got rid of 2-way IR communication with the move from MCL2 to ML (although a few products remained 2-way for a period of time). So I suspect that swapping the PCB of your LCS9000 to a later version will ensure that you can never again use 2-way IR remotes.

By any chance, have you updated the software in your BeoMaster 4500? The latest versions of the software are 1-way IR only. This happened to me when I upgraded my TV from a (MCL2) LX6000 to a (ML) BeoVision 5. The B&O dealer told me I had to get a Beolink converter 1611 AND UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE in the BeoMaster 4500. This caused my BeoLink 5000 to stop working in 2-way mode, and I subsequently had the software “downgraded” to the 2-way version again, although not connected to the TV.

Still, a software upgrade wouldn’t explain why your problem is intermittent. If you have forced your LCS9000 into MCL mode and can get it to stay that way, and set the options and rebooted the products in the right sequence, then perhaps there is a loose connection somewhere in the MCL cable.

Best regards,

Lawrence

Hi,

the LCS900  and later BL3500 have always been a 1 way IR device. There has never been implemented the necessary hardware! The  IR transmitter to achieve the transmitting of the IR signals back to a 2-way IR remote was never included nor planned.

This Link speaker is and was always an One-Way IR product just like the Beolab 2000.

Upgrading the software can't give you a function where the necessary hardware isn't built in.

@Hafenkapitaen: Using the testmodes for MCL or ML doesnt't switch the used input permanently!

This can only be achieved in testmode 9. Here the display shows "ML ON" or "ML OFF", can be changed with <up> or <down> and finally <Go> / <Play>. Now as Lawrence wrote, boot your whole system. At least this gives a clean installation with BM4500 being 2-Way and the LCS900 in 1-way.

Thanks Lawrence, thanks too Ralph-Marcus,

well, i cheked the testmode 9, but there was always switched ML off. I cleaned with the BL7000 the complete installation. After this i reconfigured all the components and the LINK function with the BL7000. I think you mean this procedure with "boot your whole system"... But unfortunely it doesent help.

Maybe it is reallly a broken cabel in the MCL cabel?

Michael
