Good morning to all of you :)

I am a new member of this site, and I hope to learn a lot from more experienced members :)

I knew from a long time that B&O is what I want to have, few years ago I started my story with BeoSound 2000, and I love it !!

Few weeks ago I found my next Beo, it is BeoGram 4004, with brand new MMC20EN Stylus. Works perfect, but to get this working I had to use a pre-amp to my (low grade Digital Sound system). And as I have a 7-pin plug from my BeoGram 4004 I thought about BeoMaster 2400 with remote control.

Going this far of course I will need a proper BeoVox, and I came across of S45.2 speakers in mint condition.

My question is, am I going in the right direction ? Do you have any guidance what is best to make a good set that will be a good investment in sound and future value :)

Many thanks

Dawid

Thank you for your reply, but this is why I opened this topic, I have no access to cataloges, this is why I am asking members for advise. I have found a pair of beautiful BeoVox S80.2, would that work with BeoMaster 2400 ?

Thanks

Yes, you are going in the right direction, in my opinion. I really enjoy these setups.

Both the Beogram 4004 and Beomaster 2400 will need servicing of a few age related parts if this has not been done in the past to work their best, something to keep in mind.

Both the sets of speakers you mentioned will also work well with this setup. Original stands will make either a little nicer, choosing will be a matter of room size and sound preference. Personally I would buy both if they are reasonably priced and find which you like better in your space and then sell the other. or keep both!

As for sound if all is working as it should, it will be fantastic. As for future value, the condition of the items will be of utmost importance but will likely continue to increase.

My first B&O Hi-Fi was a Beomaster 2400-2, Beogram 1902 and P30s. Upgraded to S75s pretty quickly and then got the 4004 - that was in 1980 and I still have the 4004.The 2200 is a better amplifier but has nothing like the cool factor. Less keen on the design of the S80s but they are perfectly good speakers as long as you change the caps - they will be way out of spec by now and will be dull. I have had most set ups but have gradually got rid of most things.

The ones I have kept are:

Beogram 4000

Beogram 4004

Beogram 3000 Thorens 12" arm

Beomaster 4401

Beolab 5000 amp

Beomaster 5000 tuner

Beomaster 8000

Beovox M100.2

Beovox S45.2

Beovox 2500 (just to look at!!)

and the newer bits and pieces I have in the house as a main system.

By the way, join as a silver member and there are many brochures on site for download as well as manuals. Join as a gold member and you may win a bit of B&O!

Seem expensive - S45 on eBay for £60 at present. And some P50s for £70 - these are lovely speakers - wall mounted and sound very similar to S45.2s.
