I apologize if this has been covered, but I can't seem to find it in searches.

My beloved TX2 started sounding 'off'-- I opened the lid and noticed the tonearm was not at 90 degrees, I pressed stop, it lifted and went back to 90 degrees. When I press play, it goes to the start of the record as normal, but does the same thing.

I read that this is usually due to a sensor bulb going out (where is that one on this model?-- the only bulb I can find is in the left rear, though it looks like there's some sort of bulb housing under the tonearm (if this is so, how do I lift it up to access it?)).

However, the left/right/lift/play buttons have stopped working as well, I don't hear anything when I press them and they no longer do anything.

Is this a sensor issue, or is there a motor that has died? There is only one turntable repair place in town and if I can't do the repair myself, I'd at least like to know what the repair might involve.

The tracking lamp is inside the carriage housing.
But check the belt for the servo motor - and the servo motor itself.
