I am in the process of purchasing a BeoVision Eclipse, and wondering if the new remote can both be BT paired with the tv, and send Beo4 command to a bs5 ? , without changing the setup on the remote. Also I have a Nl/ML converter and Mlgw.

best regards

peter

Yep it can - I asked this question before buying mine and you just need to change something over to BeoSound mode to use IR (mine hasn’t arrived yet so not sure about the exact steps, but the dealer showed me it working in person)

Sure it can!

’changing the setup on the remote’ would merely mean choosing another product to control....

....which can be a BT or a IR product.

The User Guide of the BROne/bt (du ved hvor man finder dem) should tell you exactly how to.!

P.S. Looking forward to hear about ‘your’ Eclipse, when time has come 😉

I recently purchased a BeoRemote One BT and for use with a Core via bluetooth and a BV7 and connected BS5 and BS3000 via ir.

To switch between the two modes, the steps are:

Press List

Press up or down arrow to move through items shown in display to get to current product mode.

Arrow right to get to ir and bluetooth product selection, in my case displayed as Beolab 20s (bluetooth) and Beo 4 AV (ir)

Arrow up or down to desired product/mode

Press go.

Just reread your post and saw that you have a converter and mlgw. I know nothing about those so the steps I described are probably totally wrong. Sorry.

I would advice you to ‘look through’ that manual in any case - in fact you should study it.

The BROne is a complex device - it will help you to understand how to use it.

You will have to initially set up the remote for use with your devices. I did not read the manual initially and mistakenly set it up using Beo 4 video as source instead of Beo 4 AV.

MM, I always read the manual, just don’t think it was very clear. Hope you understand my question right, I want the remote to simultaneously be BT for the Eclipse, and send ir commands to the BS5, without changing settings in the remote all the time.My dealer told me, this was not possible. Hence the question

This is not possible at the moment. Unless you configured your NL/ML Converter in such a way that the sources are integrated with the Eclipse.

I think many users would want a ‘hybrid’ configuration where the TV and the Music button can be linked to different products. E.g. TV in BT-Mode for the Eclipse and it’s sources and Music in IR-Mode. Or in my situation TV=IR and Music = NL.

Maybe we could ask Geoff Martin or MrAndersen to persuade the BeoRemote team to join the forum :)

Thanks 1990, that’s the  clarification I needed. What do you mean about the converter, can it be configured in a way, so that the Eclipse can link to the bs5 ?..my bv11 can easily link to bs5 via the converter now.

It just arrived, thanks for the instructions earlier - all sorted for what I want (except can’t find an option for A.TAPE for my BS Century/BS2500, but that’s a story for another thread)

Edit:

Found it - just remembered it got re-named from A.TAPE to A.MEM!

I would not have much hope there.

IR controlling is long gone, the NL/ML Converter obsolete and the new gateway (BeoLiving Intelligence) has no support for ML.

B&O is marketing backward integration actively. The Beoremote has IR embedded. The only change a Hybrid Beoremote software would need is 'fixing' the TV and MUSIC buttons to a standard product instead of needing to go to LIST > PRODUCTS... Minor change, major comfort boost.
