I don't think they went out on a high. The design of the Eclipse destroys the watching IMHO; since the speaker is directly below the screen, the aluminium speaker front distracts too much from the screen.
It's one of the reasons I recently went for the LG OLED. Visually, it matches my BL20's perfectly. And it doesn't have the distractions the Eclipse has.
Oh, and the price isn't ridiculous, either ;-).

This is not a market for any audio brand now. B&O would be mad to build something. This game is owned by Apple, Amazon and Spotify and the Net Radio folks. It's Game Over in this segment.
Only investment worth making is seamless integration like you have between the Eclipse and Netflix / Amazon. A next gen Essence simply needs to implement Alexa to achieve this - now that its supports Apple Music - and with Geoff's excellent engineering team, he can probably build excellent mics and dsps - a la HomePod - to drive reliable and accurate control.
B&O would do far better releasing a turntable - thats a growing market looking for design, wireless, multi-room integration and performance.
9 LEE:Probably because it is....
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
The Core / Essence are not good streamers compared to the other high end brands.
And if you had to start from scratch, with none of your current BV's, you would struggle to build a setup from their current offering.
There are clearly still some plus points to B&O products, but with little communication of strategy, a plethora of issues, some inexcusable, its perfectly understandable why existing customers are struggling to justify the price premium.
Anyway, who knows how ambitious the company will be.
People can dismiss the stock decline as part of the rough and tumble of stock markets - that's short sighted. The companies market value is a fraction of what is was in 2006 - 1/4 of its value back then according to the Bloomberg write up.
That is a damning long term judgement from the markets - they can be fickle, but generally over the long term not stupid.

Dealer?
I guess the others already left....or never were here 😉
Being generally content does not mean having no complaints.
I am just describing my own experience with my stuff.
Obviously you have other preferences and expectations than I have - I fail to understand why you wait for B&O to fulfill these.
‘Dealer?’ What makes you think so?

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Millemissen: koning: Yes! A premium brand that doesn't make a good working audio streamer. My Essence (2nd gen) does what I need. (I’d suppose that a BS Core would do the same and more). I can control the daily functions with the BeoRemote One and with the Bang & Olufsen app on the dedicated iPad Mini - and with whatever iOS device that is at hand. Works in all my connected rooms - from my 2 BV’s etc. My setup is very pleasing. My advice for you - forget B&O.....one less thing to worry about. MM

They just need to stop doing anything that requires software. They are bloody awful at it. I see they have given up on all central music systems which is good. Paying $20,000 for a tv where Sony and lg offer the same picture quality is nuts.

I don’t man basic airplay/Spotify software. I’m talking propiatary interfaces and features when there are widely used options available. For example the moment and TVs are usually a disaster. Their mobile apps have terrible ux issues.
Hi,
Regarding B&O and their software. I have today a Beovision Eclipse 65 and two Beoplay A6 in different rooms. All products is "hardwired" with Ethernet-cable (no wifi...). I can say that with the software these two products has of today they work 100% perfect.
I have had some minor problems with my Eclipse with some software-versions during 2018 but nothing big. I even use the Essence remote for my two A6 and that works perfectly. The essence remote never looses contact with the A6.
I know that the Android TV:s (BV 14 and Avant NG, Horizon) was a bad plattform with a lot of software issues. But B&O has sorted out the problems with the current range of products at least those products I have (Eclipse, Beoplay A6, Essence remote).
Regarding the B&O-app, all I can say is that I think this APP with todays software-version works perfect also. Some minor problems during 2018 but the last version 2.2.xxx is working perfect with my B&O-products. Also the multiroom is working perfect (Eclipse combined with two Beoplay A6).
Apart from this I think that this forum is a very good place to look at BEFORE you buy a new B&O-product. I did not buy BV 14, BV Avant NG or Beolab 50 because I have read that these products dont work as they should in some content. I still have my Beolab 5:s which works 100% perfect. When I found a B&O product that works perfect I buy it. By doing your purchase this way you will end up with good working products. If you have a dealer that you can trust (trust what i says) you can also, BEFORE you buy a B&O product, ask relevant questions in order to get confirmed that the product you want to buy works as it should (software wise).
This means that if you just make a little analysis regarding a purchase you will end up with good working products as I have today. Someone can think: This is crazy that you must do some analysis before a buy to get good working products. But when You buy other things (no B&O products) it should be a normal behavior to make some analysis of the thing you want to buy before you buy it. Every brand has good products and some products that is not so good (car industri, HIFI, furniture, Vaccumcleaners etc...).
This is my thoughts!
Best RegardsMartin
