Dear members,
is the EPROM in the Beomaster 7000 the same as in the Beocenter 9500? I'm asking since there was software 1.3 for the Beomaster 7000, which enabled restricted two-way compatibility of the Beomaster even when operating in option 0. Would be nice if something like that existed also for the Beocenter 9500.
Greetings,
Kai
I just had a look at the back of my BC9500 and the label would imply that it's a SW version 1.4. Not sure if this is relevant to your question, but here's a fuzzy picture!!
I should have added that I am happy to test any two-way function if required - I do have a BL5000.
Hm, ok. Probably it's entirely different software then. There used to be software 1.3 for Beomaster 7000 that enabled it to still send information when connected to a one-way TV. Thought there might be something similar for Beocenter 9500? Probably your Beocenter won't send anything when in option 0, will it?
Cheers,
Manbearpig: Probably your Beocenter won't send anything when in option 0, will it?
No it won't. I once tried to relay 'light' commands from an MCL link room whilst the BC was in option 0, but that didn't work. (It was also connected by ML converter to a one-way BV3 at the time.)
I just did a quick test, and it won't even send the 'time' command to my BL5000 when in Option 0.
Afaik remember from the 90's was that it was a special 1.4 software. Putting the master into option 0, but still sending status to the BL5000/7000.
There is no software 1.4 for Beomaster 7000....the latest is 1.3 that enables 2 way communication with BL5000/7000, you can’t say that software 1.3 for BM7000 is equal to software 1.3 for Bc9500..... the lastest Software for Beomaster 6500 is 1.7 and that is almost... but total identical to Software 1.2 for Beomaster 7000
So it is not possible to have the special “2way option 0” on BM6500 so i don’t think it is possible on Beocenter 9500 either.

Thanks for all the replys.
@Beobuddy: was your answer referring to the Beocenter 9500 or the Beomaster 7000? In other words: is there a possibilty to have the Boecenter 9500 send something when in option 0 like the Beomaster 7000 does with its software 1.3? I understand that the Beomaster 7000 1.3 software does not fit, but was there an equivalent for the Beocenter 9500 and if so which one?
Thanks!

I believe BM7000 was 2-way from the beginning, my unit is software 1.0 (by the sticker on the back and by the sticker on the chip) and it's two-way.
I haven't seen any release notes on what was fixed on the later versions but I believe (based on some older discussions) that it was related to some exotic multi-room setups where some combinations might not work with the earlier software.
Anywhere I could get a file of the 1.3 for BM7000 so I could upgrade?
The service software was released for setups with a videomaster (V-option 2) and audio slave (A-option 0).
The software came after the newer Avant was released. The Avant was only 1-way, so owners who had previously owned a MX of LX television, lost their control/status function through the 2-way communication.
So, the BM7000 was updated on request to maintain the option 0 setting, but still send the status information to the BL5000/7000, while the Avant wasn't capable to send that information anymore.

It is correct that BM7000 was 2way from the beginning...Sw1.3 was a special version that was introduced after the production of the 7000 ended. It has partnumber 8342830,but is no longer available from B&O But a couple of years ago a guy named Ulf from Germany could deliver them, I don’t know If he still has them on stock.
SW1.1 was introduced from serial number 10229486 and corrected some issues with the clock sometimes being reset when the Bm7000 was used as a stand-alone product.
SW1.2 corrected som issues with the date being set wrong when using the Beomaster7000 in combination with a LCS9000/Beolab3500 and A Master Control Panel.... this software was never implemented in production.
So - no way of getting the Beocenter 9500 to work in two-way mode when in option 0?
Mine has software 1.5 by the way and seems to be from mid 1993.
If you are still looking for 1.1 or 1.3 i can help you out.
B&O , ......and some more
I am interested in this solution that SW 1.3 eould provide, please PM for details!
Hi,
I am intersted in Version 1.3 too. Do you know where I can get a news Firmware Chip?

Dear All to avoid any confusion:BM 7000 had a RDS decoder build in as standard. When B&O changed from two way to one way, the RDS and other information could not be relayed to BL 7000.RDS Therefore SW 1.3 for BM 7000 was post developed also to work in option 0 with two way transmoit only from BM 7000
BC 9500 did not have a RDS decoder. B&O decided only to upgrade the BM 7000 SW..
