Hello

I have been watching Netflix using Apple TV connected to my TV, no problem works perfectly......however.....Bandersnatch arrived and Apple TV doesn't support the movie/features.

I tried to download Netflix using the Android software on the TV and I constantly get the message that Netflix doesn't work on this device........What gives?

Any ideas? My understanding is the reason that B&O started using Android was to be able to use Netflix et al. It seems the new iterations of the B&O TVs have a Netflix Button on the Remote.

My gut feeling is that it is not supported, because when I bought the TV, the store where I bought it (and subsequently set it up at my home) were very keen on me using the Apple TV to stream Netflix, is this why????

Anywho I would be interested if anyone knows either way, I have tried to Google this but I find the answers are generally non definitive.

thanks

hi.

The new Beoremote one with netflix is only for the newer beovision eclipse:)

BV 14 will not get Netflix, because B&O have no deal with Netflix on the android platform.

So the apple tv or chromecast is the only choice for you=)

Sweet, thanks for your help. Was kind of my gut feeling. I guess I will get ChromeCast too.

I had guests the other night who have some inkling of what B&O is all about (price) and its at best embarrassing when your $13000 tv doesn't play Netflix and the 500 buck Samsung TV in my office does, 1st world problems I know, but still pretty crap when you are mocked by you peers as we streamed it from a phone :/

Netflix refuses to support the BV14 because the BeoOne BT does not have a dedicated Netflix button. In order to have Netflix as a stock app on the TV there are certain steps the TV brand has to take. (+ some licensing probably too) B&O refused to have a Netflix button on the remote and Netflix axed the support for the TV.

Game over for Netflix on the Avant/Horizon and BV14.

No Netflix button on the Apple remote, though.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Indeed.. Correct... but.. It's only related to smartTVs (https://devices.netflix.com/en/recommendedtv/2018/); not to set top boxes or media streaming devices. My Samsung UHD BluRay player also has Netflix on it, but not a Netflix button on the remote)

I was just pointing at the odd behaviour of the company Netflix.

No need for a special button on the remote.....just because it is a tv!

Anyway - B&O had to give in with the Eclipse.

Fortunately the previous BT remote works just as well there - if you don’t like the button.

I've seen a manual of a BV14 where both of the remotes were referenced... one with Netflix button and one without. But probably not good enough for Netflix. Anyway.. that's what you get when you as a small Danish AV company try to take on a semi monopolist.

I wondered whether it has nothing to do with licensing but with the actual version of NF

I would be interested to see if there is an older version of NF available that works when android 5.0 was out and if you can install it via USB

When I tried NF on my 14 the code was this version is not supported (I think that’s what it said)

Markandsaz I also use the Apple TV

Does your Apple TV remain signed in under NF? Mine seems to always not log out but I always have to press my login (I have two on my account). Whereas in my Sony my login is always logged in.

Well I tried a few things to know avail.

I found an old APK of Netflix and I tried a number of apps to open it.

I downloaded the APK to my one drive which the apps on the TV can see and when I got to install it after it downloads the install button is greyed out.

I have allowed on the BV14 to install apps from 3rd party and still doesn’t work which is weird.

Hi, maybe you downloaded the old version of netflix so it happened an error, please download the latest update to use

Netflix has never worked on the BV14, nor will it ever work. Netflix will not let B&O install it onto their BV14/Horizon TVs... see my posts about it above in this thread.

Yep. Doesn’t work.

Doesn’t really matter. I have the Apple TV and instead of a Netflix button I use a MyButton to start and it’s nearly the same thing

This way you also get the latest Netflix app anyway.

I had a 14 for 7 months from launch - and yes while Netflix is not supposed to work, at a few times I actually managed to get it to work natively.

That said it was unstable, so just used an Apple TV in the end.

Horrible software platform on the Android TVs

Hello, I have another suggestion that you can use Netflix to stream via HDMI to your TV. This is a common practice if Netflix is not supported on your TV.

That’s what we’ve been saying... through an AppleTV or other set-top boxes. Huh?

Try the latest netflix premium mod

I am using it for a year now.

You are using it on your B&O TV?
