I need help finding some light bulbs. I just bought my in-laws house, built in 1963, designed by my late father-in-law, it has a pair of what were at the time undoubtedly high end European ovens, not sure of brand, but the lights are out in both and they take xc7 25 watt oven bulbs, hi temp ones. I can't find them anywhere here including online. I found a listing on amazon.uk but they won't ship to the US.

If anyone knows where I can order these, or wants to take pity on me and ship me some I'll gladly pay for the bulbs, shipping, and your time. Dark in them ovens! Now I know why every time I visited over the past 25 years there were no lights in the ovens...

The joys of a 50 year old house! But I went from a cramped 1224 sq ft zero lot line house to this mid century modern 3500+ sq ft house on almost 3 acres of wooded lot, so it's worth the hassles ans squeaky floors. And when I get fully moved in the B&O will look spectacular here, will definitely hit the Flash your B&O thread with some pics soon.

I had never head of a XC7 base, so I googled a bit and found mostly search engine spam... but apparently it is the same / similar to C7, and this seems to be more commonly called E12.

Ours are E14 and 230V so can't help you locally, but if it really is this:

...you might find them more easily if you search for E12 base.

Thanks! I will try that! I've bought some E12 base larger bulbs for a couple of European lamps I have. The bulbs in the oven have a very short bulb, and I need to check and see if a slightly taller bulb will fit.

I really appreciate the folks on the forum here and the fact that so many of you are across the pond from me. Your advice and recommendations on things like this are a big help.

I have the same problem with my oven light, I use a Maglite, keeping it handy in a drawer next to the ovenBig Smile

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Simples... once the food seems to disappear into the black interior of the oven, it is well done Big Smile

You might of course try a 230V bulb - it would be quite dim and probably last forever - but I'm not sure if an E14 bulb would go into an E12 base (it apparently works the other way round, as you said).

Or, the difference might be in the name only. E14 is the regular "small mains voltage" bulb over here, while the large version is E27; I suppose yours is E26.

Not yet, both seem to work, one of them was just loose. The ovens are Gaggenaus, almost 30+ yr old ones but they work. I will hit up Gaggenau to see if they have them, that'll be a test of how long they provide support!
