Hello to Everyone and a happy and succesfull new Year 2019
I've some trouble with my Beosound 9000. The System works completely, CD's are selected and playing, Radio is OK receiving lot of stations, Lid opens and closes in ervery position, Speakers are connected, Pentas show Display Data and Sound is comming out.
To my Problem:
When iI try to store the Soundsettings like Bass, Treble, Volume, and Loudness I'm not able to store the Settings like in the Manual discribed.
I can change the values of Bass, Treble and Volume, Loudness
I press OK Display says "SOUND OK?"
I press OK
Display showes "STORED"
When I switch to Standby and Back to Radio or CD the old Values are Back, no Soundsetting are stored.
Not Excactly the same with Naming CD's
I press NAMING
I can change characters
Display switches back to normal with no confirmation and shows only CD Number and Track or Time
Even when I press OK or any other Button no Name is displayed.
Aditional Information:
Clock keeps the Time Stored
Radiostations are stored and keep stored after Mains of.
Tried some Test Modes:
TM 27: Service of error detection
Errors shown:
IIC ERROR 208
CD ERROR 7
SER ERROR 3
SLG ERROR 42
PLT ERROR 17
APS ERROR 11
POWER ERROR 20
After clearing all errors and using the Beosound for about one Hour in different Modes no more Errors are displayed when I executed TM 27
TM 28: Validity test for ROM/RAM/EEPROM
Result is: ++-
should be: +++
TM 31: Set default settings
Result: ERROR --->( maybe not possible in MKI / SW version)
TM 34: Read-out of options
Result: WRONG SRC/TM --->( maybe not possible in MKI / SW version)
Some more Information about Software:
Type: 2526
SW: 1.3
Link: 1.6
Motor: 1.8
Tuner: 1.1
CD: 1.2
Option A 1 is selected and confirmed with blinking Stby LED.
So my Question is:
Is there anybody outthere who can clearify the Errors special the EEPROM Error ++- ?
Or is there another Backup Battery in the Unit? I've found one, reads about 2.9 Volt, I know it's a little less than 3.3 Volt, but I think the Battery is only used for the Clock to Run when Mains are of.
Should iI swap the Battery? Itś a lot of work to get to it.
Clock works after Mains of for Hours, Radiostations are stored.
Thank you a lot for any help.
Best Regards
Christian
As you already indicated, replace the Eeprom.
It has to be replaced by a new/another Eeprom with some minimum settings.
You might as wel replace the software with the latest 2,21A version. Your 1.3 is one of the first I've never seen (the eariest version I've seen so far is 1.4)
If you're having difficulties to find the software/Eeprom, send a pm.
Keep in mind that the (PSU/ML) board with all it's components are aging, as you've mentioned the backup battery, and eventually will fail. But for 95% in these casess, it can be fixed.
Hi Beobuddy
Did You get my PM?
Best regards
Problem solved
Big Thank to André.
He sent me a new Eeprom and another IC.
Everything is working fine aggain.
Best regards to everybody
Double Post
You're welcome.
Nice to hear that it works again!
Have you tried the Atape instruction with the Beo4 remote?
Hi André
Nice to hear from you.
Hope you're fine again.
As I wrote You aleady the BS 9000 works like charme again.
You wrote about the Beo4 ATAPE Instruction but i don't know what You realy mean.
When i press ATAPE on tge BEO 4 the Display of the BS shows STREAMING.
I have no clue for what I should use the Streaming function.
Maybe You can give me an explanation.
When you use the A.Aux or the A.Tape instruction, in both cases the Aux socket will be used.
Only the A.Tape is renamed to STREAM. The Aux socket is nowadays mostly used for use with a Chromecast Audio or Bluetooth dongle. So, renaming the ATape to stream is a bit more appropriate.
