Hi
Want to link my beolab 3 speakers to my Panasonic Tv
Would like to run them through an AV Receiver or Processor.
Since the beolab 3s are active speakers, what do i need or need to look at.
Any recommendations ?? With possibility of adding more speakers in the future.
Help much appreciated, as i'm getting confused
Hi!
I personally used a rotel rsx 1057 with very good results. Active speakers must be conected to pre-amp outputs so you basically need a pre-amp or a processor, not necesarilly an amplifier.
First thing is to be sure that the "processor"you buy have pre-amp outputs. Otherwise is not useable.
Second: cables. I used RCA- RCA ( also known as DIN cables) for my BL 6000 and 8000 which have "line in" inputs.
I don't know BL 3 what kind of inputs have: powerlink for sure.....line in ???
If they have only powerlink you need mixed cables: powerlink - DIN.
Suggestion: ask Steve at Sounds Heavenly. He can help you with cables.

Hi Boycey,
Have a look at the latest Pioneer AV amps. Exceptional quality. We use them in our concert rooms connected to again, Panasonic LCDs. This room is used for record execs, bands, pop stars to promote our brand of stations. As i'm sure you can imagine, sound and vision quality is paramount with these guys!
I've always used Yamaha amp's . Very reliable and solid.
Great will take a look at all your suggestions, thanks for your help
Anyone using one of these: Pioneer SC -LX56-K
Has a few pre outs which would work with what i need????
Also allows for future upgrades.
What do you think.

Bought the SC LX56 from Pioneer.
Monster piece of kit.
Yes, that is a good choice of receiver! Like Flappo, I now always recommend Yamaha receivers as they are great value (they seem to be good at whatever they make, whether it is a motorbike or a grand piano!), but Pioneer are a very close second place.
As the SC-LX56 has pre-out sockets fitted for all audio channels, you can easily connect stereo Beolab speakers (eg. Beolab 3) to these sockets using special RCA to DIN line cables (I build versions for almost all models of Beolab speakers, including Beolab 3).
Beolab 2 or 11 subwoofers and Beolab 7-x or 10 centre speakers can also be connected if required. If you need any further help with cabling, please feel free to ask.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
