I have my BeoLab 6000 speakers connected to a non-B&O system so have to use the phono sockets (LINE).

When plugged into power with speaker wire plugged into the phono sockets the Green light comes and stays on and I get serious Hum. I have plugged the power through an Ebtech Hum X and it makes no difference. Removing the speaker wire from the phono socket and the hum disappears and the small light goes to Red.

I have taken a speaker to a far part of the house and plugged it in with no other components to reduce any possible interference and it makes no difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Sounds like it is either the lead going into the speaker, the source or it is a loose connection on the phono socket - I have a BL6000 that has a problem with one of it's phono sockets.

Thanks Andrew. Looks like you might be right. Removed current lead and plugged in a standard "Monster" AV cable and the hum disappeared. I'll splice the AV cable to the speaker wire over the weekend and see if I'm good.....thanks again.....Mike
