As I've used my first set of batteries in my first Beoremote One, a quick feedback to explain why I'm not happy:
On the BR1, when your batteries are becoming low, when you use a source button, instead of displaying the source name, the screen shows a big "no battery" logo and turns off. And then the screen will not display anything.
This means that all the buttons you added under the "list" or "source" button where you select a function with the screen is not usable anymore. As I'm a bit ecologically minded, I didn't change the batteries, waiting for the remote to become totally dead. But 3 months later it didn't happen, the remote was still working, only displaying a big battery logo on its display. I got fed up and changed the batteries.
The problem is that if the screen can display this big bright logo, it can still work and display your menu... I would have preferred the battery logo and then my menu to use the full capacity of my batteries. I was able to do that with the Beo4, not anymore. I think it's a bad move from B&O, a on-ecological one.

Maybe it could last way longer, if I didn’t need the screen buttons... if you like throwing away batteries that can still power your remote, that’s your choice, not mine.
I never updated my br1 and it’s the first model with 3 “my buttons” and the flat buttons. So if you have a younger br1 that doesn’t do this, the behavior has been corrected, which is nice.
It is the whole remote which is crap. Unusable in dark, ok nice looking, but when you use a Beo4 since decades, frankly the One is not the same level. They would have better do generalise the backlight of the Cinema release, or really do something relevant regarding buttons arrangement. Even the BL1000 with its so many button changes during its life was more usable in dark than this one. And it is not even better with normal light, buttons are too tiny (even with thin fingers as I have)

Michael:I still have the same batteries as when I got my remote 2014. Have no issues yet. If they drain quickly something is wrong. If it takes years and you still think it’s to little: use chargeable batteries. I don’t think it’s easy to maintain proper function when a battery is years old and unable to provide sufficient power.
I would have replaced the batteries ages ago. Spend all this money on a TV.. and a set of batteries is worth very little in comparison and not worth worrying about in a low power mode.
