Steve at Sounds Heavenly: Hi Bpfontes, Thanks for posting the pictures. As work is already in progress, it could be prudent to keep access to the cable routes open until you are sure of the way that everything will be connected. If you can run spare shielded Cat 7 cables to each point from your central wiring hub/equipment cabinet, that will be a great help for "future proofing" when new technology comes out. Hi Steve, absolutely, great advice, what we are doing is to run first flexible tubes everywhere, the cables will work inside it, so its just a matter of pulling them out and run newer cables. Since everything will be done inside walls and ceiling, we will install passages throughout the ceiling to organise and run all cabling, like in any big construction or industrial site, thus rendering any replacement or addition easier. We will also use in many cases large flexible tube, just in case, so thank you. To address your questions about which products will work together, the simple answer is that all of them can work together, if they are set up according to your needs. The secret to a good installation is to be sure of what you want to achieve. The best place to start is to sketch up a layout of the house, showing the rooms, speakers, TV, projectors, etc, plus any physical music players (eg. turntables). Next, look at which audio and video sources need to be available in each room and add them to the sketch. If you have a group of rooms where you will often pass through whilst listening to the same music (eg. kitchen, lounge, dining room) then you can mark these in together as a "zone" to ensure that you have access to your music from all speakers in these areas. For B&O wireless multiroom music, there is no problem as you can simply select the music to be played on each speaker as required. However, for Masterlink products, it can be helpful to identify where you wish to play the music to and control it from. As an example, at home I have two "zones" for music, the first for my office and the rest covering the lounge, dining room, kids' playroom, master bedroom, family bathroom and ensuite bathroom. This is because there will only ever be one music source playing in the main area of the house (and my wife likes to be able to go from room to room without losing the music), but I may have something different playing in the office at the same time. If you share the house with other people, their viewing and listening habits should be considered as well, for example if one person will play the turntable in the music room while you play CDs from the Beosound 9000 in the lounge, etc. I agree, thank you, what I will do then in the coming days, I will work on the project plants and will place every equipment in its intended location and will try and create a graphic of what I want to work, where and how, as per your advise and will then share it with you guys and see what can be done or/and what should I look into instead. Hope this helps! Please ask if you have any questions. Kind regards, Steve.

Kiran:Your BS Cores will have multiroom play... The BeoAmp 16 gives you up to 1 or 8 zones depending on how you divide the input... Split the Powerlink to RCA signal from your BS Core to the zones you want to power... It’s up to you how you divide the 8 zones... I hope this makes sense...

Got it! Makes perfect sense, I guess I will be spending a small car money on BS Cores...😊
Hi chucky,
Audio cables won't cause any delay, but you will get sound quality loss over 100 metres, even with good quality cable. Analogue audio cables should ideally be kept as short as possible for the best sound quality, sensible targets are less than 50m for Masterlink (balanced audio), less than 20m for Powerlink and line level audio, or less than 10m for amplified (speaker level) audio.

Thank you for such a detailed post and pics. Looks really amazing and equipped. I am currently in search of property to buy in Greece to do similar work with it. My wife is from there and wants to come back to live in her motherland. But I will for sure need to rebuild the whole property to be of my standard )))
Making way for the Beo 9000, I'm still inlove with this system, surely one of the best designs by B&0 till today
Making way for the Beo 8000, one side done, one to go
Replacing the new sockets for.....newer ones! :))

Finalising the tv and dining room, next step will be passing cables to the server/media room, finally starting to see real changes...
View to the living room from the cinema room
You can see some of the cables coming from the first floor already, left top corner!

Hi Qatari, great to hear from you. Sounds exciting, the weather certainly is a big factor, Lisbon is also quite OK over Spring and Summer, but I have to tell you, right now, it's way too cold! Of course other parts of Europe are way worse...:(
Will keep you all posted, right now it's a slow process, nothing too exciting happening, but I am expecting a visit from the local B&O guy on Monday, should have news then, you guys have a great weekend!
Hi there,
A little update, had the visit of the local B&O guy and I have now a pretty real idea of how the entire set up will be. Much goes along with what you guys have suggested and advised, it was more the fact that I needed to get a grasp on site of the whole setup.
I have put together a PDF of the plant as Steven suggested (thank you so much!), where I placed all of the equipment in its actual locations. The whole system will be interconnected as it follows:
Beosound Core (10) - these will create the zones
Beoamp16 and 2 - these will assist with powering the passive speakers (thank you Kiran, Robin, Andybandy)
AV Receiver - this will permit to control the various sources in the cinema room (5.1)
Overture - due to the limitation of the analogue, I will limit this particular system to the nearest speakers
Beosound 9000 - this will be linked to every speaker
Beosound Moment - will be installed and looking for better integration to come, such as pull up of all zones, assign sources to them, etc (there has been great software upgrades since it's launch, but still room for improvement)
Since the Moment will not act as a real master system, most of the controlling will be done via the apps, voice (Alexa/Google) and the Home Automation panels throughout the house
I hope this makes sense, to most of you it was always a no brainer, I trust the information will help those like myself, new to this or just looking to upgrade and not really sure how to go about.
Feel free to comment/rectify or even suggest. This is my current vision, should a new product launch meantime, maybe there will be changes.
Thank you all and I will continue to update you has the works progress.
Hi Bruno,
This looks good! If you connect the Ouverture into one Core and the Beosound 9000 into another Core (via the 3.5mm optical/analogue input on the Core) then you can play music from these systems to any speakers in the house easily.
If you look for an AV receiver that has pre-out sockets fitted for all audio channels, this will make it easier to connect to your Beolab speakers for surround sound.
Please ask if you need any help with cabling and I will be pleased to assist. I look forward to hearing more details of the project as it progresses!

Hiort: Bpfontes: Beosound Moment - will be installed and looking for better integration to come, such as pull up of all zones, assign sources to them, etc (there has been great software upgrades since it's launch, but still room for improvement) Impressive project Just some advise regarding Moment that I also own. The product is discontinued so there are no further development on the software other than silent updates to keep eg Tunein and Deezer going. As you state the latest major sw version was a great improvement. You will not be able to control zones from Moment. You will however be able to join in on what is playing on the other units in the house, but you have no control.

Hi Hiort, thanks for your advise, indeed the limitations are still many, it still puzzles me why this potentially great product never really received the love and functionality that it could have from B&O...but it's still quite an attractive piece and that is also something that I look for in this project, design
Simonbeo: Great project. I like the theme and its drawn up. cool. Look forward to seeing it progress.
Thank you Simonbeo!

Hi Kiran, progress has been slow right now, so not much to post or say, this coming Monday the electricians will "move" in so I believe we will start seeing action again. Fingers crossed!
Hi Guys,
Wanted to give you an update. Work is progressing, we have now finalised the opening of the pit for the TV lift system, what a pain it was, the guys gave it all! 1,50cm deep into the ground!!
The electrical wall enclosures have arrived!!
Any updates?
