hi. Just unpacked my 35 year old 2000 80’s type. Is there any way to oil the pulley without taking the pills apart. Can oil be put in from the bottom of the pulley on top of the Motor? Will it get on the belt?
Please help. Getting a small noise at startup. Goes away as soon as the re it’s spins a few times

the motor cannot be oiled through some holes at the bottom, only on top to the shaft. Or you take it apart and give some drop of oil to the bearings

Is it possible to oil at the base of the pulley that the belt is around. I’m afraid of getting oil on the belt. Please help
I use a fine injection needle with some bearing oil, you can use weapon or sewing machine oil as well. Is it a problem to remove the belt first?.
I can remove the belt. I do have an injection needle to use for the oil. I was concerned with getting oil on the pulley that will get on the belt. is it possible to inject around the base of the pulley so as not to get on the belt?
One drop is enough and that would stay at the bottom of the axis. If you have any concerns you can let it settle for a day and use a toilet tissue to remove the excess oil (if there is still any).
Btw: cleaning the pulley and belt with some alcohol afterwards will be no bad idea.
I ordered a belt from a supplier in the us, the belt is way to tight and the platter barely moves. Old belt is working just fine. Luckily I stored the TT with Belt off. is there a barrier between the pulley and the motor, where the oil can seep under but not touch the belt. I know there is a lip at the top to hold the belt on the pulley is there one on the bottom ?

Beogram 2000. 80’s type. Flat belt.
Ok, that must be a Type 5821, 5823 or 5825 with a DC-motor and not a 5240 or 5244 with AC motor.
Just to be sure because the AC motor has to be disassembled, cleaned and newly oiled. With the DC motor it can be similar, but they are not made to be opened. Better to change the whole motor. Or the root cause is the electronic.
Took me a few months and the startup noise got worse. It also happened when the TT was shutting down.
Put a few drops of oil at the bottom of the pulley. Reset the cover. All fixed. Works like a charm...

purchased a beomaster 2000 to go with my beogram 2000. replaced the 2 din pins back into the plug to make it a 7 pin din, now the units are talking to each other. the onlu issue I am having is that when the speakers are using the speaker 1 switch, the unit shorts out or lowers the sound. Switch the speakers to the speaker 2 setting, works like a charm. Any ideas? folks.
