You wrote....’rj45 to powerlinlk adapter’, so I assumed, that your friend also have some (a pair of) BeoLabs.

Just connect these to the hub.

Hi millemissen

Correct he actually has 4 beolab 6000 and a lab 2, I take I will need to download the app and connect the hub to that, there is going to be an LG TV connected via optical,

You will have to daisychain the speakers and to choose L or R on the speakers according to where they are placed.

Just remember, that the hub does not support multichannel audio - only 2.0/2.1.

It is not smart, so you cannot join it to a core or an essence? You will need a bs 4?

Maybe you should have asked your ebay seller 😉

Just mentioning, that you can hardly expect support from B&O, when you buy off ebay.

However, at Beoworld we still try to help - as you have seen!

It really isn’t that hard....the (original) S8 is just a regular BeoLab.

You connect any modern BeoLab to the hub the same way.

The app and choosing the BS Core won’t help you anything - it’s a different product!!!

Connect one of the BL8000’s, set it to left or right....in order to see if the unit is working.

The process of connecting the tv to the optical in will be the same as described in the guide and as shown in the video.

What - why didn’t you mention that in the first place?

And where does that come into the game? How does he expect to use that?

No!

I did - from your posts - understand that a LG tv should be connected to the optical in.

Please do read the guide page 12....about the ir learning.

And do watch the video (second half) - it’s all shown there.

Correct setup it should be possible to control the volume with the remote of the tv.

Hi mm

I presumed that I could just remove the beocentre as it's faulty and he could just the the hub in place with his speakers thanks for you guidance and help

No it was easy to set up, I had presumed that I neeeded the app to set it up, it does look similar to the core and that's why I thought I had to set it up with app. I think I might have a look at the core for myself a great way to bring my beolab 4000 right up to date
