Purchased a Beosound 1 ex display earlier today from my local B&O store. But its been a nightmare. Software version is:

Ok, i checked my BS1 and it's version is 1.19. It did say last week on the Beotool that Beoportal was unreachable and i had problems updating it.
I reset the device using the button (cog button) on the underside and re "paired" it from scratch ie find it on your iphone, add it back to your network etc
Then it updated.
It's the first time i have had to do that
PS i removed it from the BeoApp too
First test though: is it working?
Yes, working.
Have just reset it.
Still will not update software! :(
How do you update it without using the B&O App? Is there a way to manually update it. And it keeps showing as a generic speaker in the app??
So grateful for any help given

Software version is: Version 1.17.22535.7625124 And it won’t update to latest. Beotool says Beoportal unreachable. Won’t connect, Deezer not working, chrome cast wont work etc etc etc How do I manually update? Some one please help, I am at my wits end David
David,
1. Use the Bang & Olufsen app to find the IP address of the product. The IP can be seen after selecting the BeoSound 1 settings in the app.
2. Connect to the IP via a browser on a PC or via mobile browser by typing the number in the adress-bar. Now the BeoSound 1 webpages should be seen in the browser.
3. Select the menu "UPDATE PRODUCT SOFTWARE"

right I’m in to that page you said, but it says update from a local file? I don’t have the new firmware?
...and stills says running latest firmware, but its not!
If any one has the latest firmware they can share with me? Be so appreciated. Gutted all this hassle with something I paid a lot for.

Sorry, my fault (I do have a file, have downgraded my BS2 several times after new firmware issues)

And isn't the firmware for all devices? Would be fine.
No, firmware is different.
First enable automatic software update!
(I haven't done done this, because I want to keep the downloaded file)

Yes, the beotool app shows red dots on beoprtal cant be reached and software not been looked for.

Yes, accessed that screen from my macbook, no different. Still won't update or even show new software

Maybe, would make sense. But surely a reset would clear that?
A couple of weeks ago my app showed no connection to BeoPortal on multiple devices. I was also trying to an install an update that was being pushed to me by B and O and it did not show up. I uninstalled all products from the app, and then reinstalled them in the app and the connection was restored, the update appeared, and was installed.
Update
Beosound returned to store earlier and full refund given.
Sad and frustrating experience all round.
