Hello Folks !

I am thinking to buy a beosound essence to use it with my beosound 5 encore. I would like to stream music from the essence using bluetooth and my smartphone. I won't use wifi as my network is too complicated (wifi is out of the lan where the nas provide music and frankly, I don't use wifi at all).

Is this possible ? Any reason to use the MKII over the MKI ? I have difficulties to pinpoint the improvement to be honest.

Cheers,

Serge

Honestly, there is no need for the Essence in that case.

Just get a small Bluetooth receiver - it will be much easier and easier to hide.

Depending on your tablet/phone you should choose one with support for AAC or aptX.

Thanks MM !

I was also considering this option, but I was also wondering if the  Essence can do it of if wifi was mandatory to use it.

Cheers,

As far as I remember only the 2nd gen has bluetooth for streaming content.

In order to set the Essence up, it will have to be on your network (wired/wifi) - although I would assume that the bt connection will be open without any setup procedure.
