I noticed a feature in the app this evening that I do not recall seeing before. Curious if it is something I have missed before or if it is something new. There is a setting that enables B and O to have access for 48 hours to one’s system to allow better support and answering of questions by B and O.

Looked at it a little closer.....says it allows B and O to read data from products and change settings on them.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

They don't need the app for that :-)

B&O uploaded beta-firmware onto my BV14 to check some issues...

It is in fact a new trouble shooting service from B and O. It is designed to allow a customer to receive real time assistance with their products and network.

Well, that’s good then. Given the way the world is going these days I was afraid it wasn’t your choice! I know I could sign up and download beta s/w for my Auralic but the current version does all I want and does it perfectly. A friend signed up for beta and got Spotify Connect before I did, it showed up on mine in a recent firmware update.

While I trust B&O support persons and process would be helpful and honest, a practice giving control of your computer to an outsider is a very very bad idea. I wonder if you have to agree to make B&O harmless if something goes wrong?  For me an advisor or chat screen is a safer idea.

The feature is not giving B and O control of your computer. It allows B and O access to the products associated with one's BeoCloud account. The support feature in the app specifically describes the limits of this access to  the products.

The new support feature in the app does seem to work very well. Had a configuration question about the BeoRemote 1 and Core. Received a prompt response addressing the issue as well as a follow up to see if issue was solved. Seems like a great idea that has been well executed by B and O.
