Hello all
I have a dilemma, in December my warentee runs out on my bv7 mk4
So at this point I normally upgrade my screen but I'm stuck at the moment.
New BV7 will hopefully have Beonet and will give me new options with home automation and perhaps not need a ML gateway, I want to home automate my house but cannot until I know where Beonet is going.
i see the new TV's have down away with start so I loose my video dist and analogue Apple TV sound to link rooms without the mai room tv being on.
if I did wait and upgrade I loose the analogue video system to my bedroom tv and have to spend loads more on HD video dist and my ML system needs a convertor and might not work with my MCL beocenter 9500.
so I'm dammed if I do and dammed if I don't.
any thoughts anyone, will the new Beonet be home automation capable via IP?
where is everything going ahhhhhhhhhhh
really looking forward to some replied to read.

Hey Seanie,
Hope you are well dude! Have a look at how the V1 & BV11 have gone and it's probably an indication what will follow...
I guess Apple TV & Airplay & DNLA have certainly changed the way that we are receiving & distributing compared to the B&Os of the 1980s with MasterLink.
Only trouble is Seanie, you may spend a fortune on the next BV7 screen but in a year or so, you will be TOTALLY gutted when OLED finally makes it to the B&O range. I saw a small OLED in Selfridges last year and it was INCREDIBLE. The 55" LG hits Currys in January 2013, with the speed of electronics, even B&O will have one out soon. Of course, the new APPLE TV will be OLED when it appears next year. Don't forget the new Apple TV box is scheduled for March.

I had only recently (as in this weekend!) discovered that the ATV HDMI could be heard in link rooms ... what I had not gotten around to was discovering your point ... not only does the BV have to be on, it has to have the ATV selected as a source.
On the other hand TV and DTV and V-AUX-SCART work fine so I appreciate your concern.
As Paul has said 2013 could be a year of big change ... and if the only decider is the warranty exposure I would be inclined to take the risk ... of course I usually use my AMEX to get the additional warrant coverage that comes with the card.

just a heads up!
the ATV can be heard in link room if the ATV is conencted via HDMI but
if its the ATV1 and also connected via the photo leads then it can be heard in link rooms without the mainroom tv being on or being on that source :)
this involved a software update and the correct DSM module for this to work as i chased it in the past
ATV1 rocks i dont like the ATv2 as it lost the L+R analogue out :(

Thanks for the PM Seanie :)
I held off buying the original ATV until the ATV2 arrived -- and then I was faced with the dilema of loosing the L+R analogue plugs and also the ease of adding non-Apple apps ... but in the end I went with the more modern cheaper version ... without the ability you have ... such is life.
I did try navigating blind (ie BV off) the ATV menus from memory -- almost impossible ! shows how simple N-Music is by contrast !!
Hay the only thing that is easy blind is use the apple remote app to at least have to way access or control of music.
