One of the speakers started to produce a humming sound (even without any audio input plugged in) last week (when the speaker light is green). Based on my research it appears to be an issue with the power supply module. Unfortunately the speaker stopped working today and the red light doesn't turn green even when there's an audio input either through the Powerlink cable or a RCA...
I think it suffered from the same problem as this: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/13146/125084.aspx
Would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out:
1. Where can I order the power supply module and potentially the crossover board as well?
2. Are there any guides / instructions that I can follow?
3. I'm based in Hong Kong - not sure if there are any good B&O repairman over here
Many thanks in advance!
About the issue with the red led not turning to green. I'm pretty sure that's caused by the foam inside the rot over time. In this case, I don't think swapping for a new power unit is needed. Opening it finding the open circuit and repairing should be enough.
I don't know anybody in the hong kong area experienced in Bang & Olufsen repair.
Yes indeed,as the previous posted stated, you will almost certainly find the autoswitching problem is due to a damaged power module, but it can be repaired with care and assuming that you can solder?
The humming problem is a bit odd though,as there is nothing connected other than the standby switching circuit, when the unit is standing by
I doubt that you will be able to find replacement modules other than salvaged one's
I feel sure that there is someone in Hong Kong who is capable of sorting this out for you,as there seems to be quite a lot of B&O there, among the expat community at least?
