Hi, since some time I have a problem with the drive belt of my Beogram 7000CD is to loose probably to old. I already have a replace, but it seems to be a little complicated to exchange the belt, because the pulley for the drawer is in its way. I may have to take the spring loaded wire of, but I am not sure if that is the only way. The service manual does not give an explanation how to change the rubber belt. Is there any one that can tell me how to do the job without messing the unit up? Answers in German are also welcome ;-))

Do not take the wire off, it is not necessary and difficult to replace.

There is a way of replacing the rubber drive belt quite simply.  Unfortunately, ill health has meant that I have forgotten how I did it (MS and a brain tumour, I'm afraid), despite the fact that I replaced several!

The wheel that is in the way and it's shaft can be removed and the tension on the wire maintained with one hand while you replace the belt with the other hand.  Perhaps a circlip needs to be removed, but my memory is foggy.

Martin Olsen, Dillen on the forum, told me how to do it. Suggest you send him an email.  Nick Robbins, solderon29 on the forum, may also be able to help you.

Hello Graham,

thanks so far for your fast reply, I had the same idea to pull off the weel but was not sure, anyway I will do what you told me, to ask the other guys if they have the same adwise for me, but I guess you are right, pull the weel to the right side and hold the string under tractive force.

I think you need to remove a C clip from the opposite end of the shaft which is the other side of a metal wall. I'm struggling to remember exactly.

Hi Graham,

thanks for your help, I will try that out next week. I know that there is a little nose that I may have to push up to pullout the shaft.

let's see, I let you know if your idea was right.

regards

All you have to do is lift up the PCB board to the left in the machine. Then you can see the motor for the sledge pulley, there is a white "plastic-flap" that you can press.

This allows the wheel to be pulled of its shaft without removing wire.

Just dont drop the wheel, keep if firm and dont turn/flip/angle it to much while holding it in your hand. This ensures that the wire does not slip or come off.

Great you got it working :)

I dont know about the distance, why would you need to change that ? Is it scraping or something ?

No, but jus in case, it would be nice if it could be done just like the fan belt in some cars Smile

But Ok it is OK now and it should work for some time.

thanks again

The rubber band has probably never been replaced before so should last another good few years.
