Hi, not posted for a while but still cant resist buying B&O stuff as there is so much of it on ebay...
So I acquired a BeoVision 7 (Type 9354, not sure what version this is?) with Beolab 7.2 speaker and motorised stand as the weekend. Looks amazing and got it linked up to my Youview STB quickly via a HDMI to DVI lead (had to change the output res on my STB to 720p first). Picture comes through fine but no audio which i am aware is due to the fact that DVI transmits only the picture part of the HDMI transmission and not the audio. So my question is this, what is the recommended way to get the best possible Picture and Audio output from a STB (that only has HDMI output) into a BV7 that has pretty much everything but HDMI (Scart, DVI, Component etc).
I would say its a MK III
More regarding the versions can be found here.
Most people I have seen have used a HDMI - > DVI adapter, and taken the sound into a phono red/white input on the BV7.

Thanks! So does that mean i need a HDMI to DVI with separate Audio outputs? Do these exist? Cant see a separate dedicated Audio output from my YiewView box:https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&id=722518AF07274CDADD67B2C953C49FD90F847A8B&thid=OIP.CFR8-C2b1HNJOx8907ArYQHaE1&mediaurl=http%3A%2F%2Fgearopen.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F04%2Fphputoib8.jpg&exph=424&expw=650&q=ultra+hd+you+view+box+ouput+options&selectedindex=2&adlt=strict&ajaxhist=0&vt=0&eim=1,2,6
Hi,
there's an optical SPDIF connector just left of the HDMI socket :)
Get a cheap converter from TOSLink to RCA SPDIF and connect it to the BV7 :)
Search on amazon or eBay for: 'toslink to rca'

Your a star!!!! thank you!
9354 should be a BV7-40 MKI.
BV7-40 MKI and MKII had 720P and the red dot display.
MKIII was the first with Beosystem 3 integrated, 1080P and white display.
Stefan
Thanks all.
Another question: what would be the best way to connect an Amazon Firestick?
If you want to connect two or more HDMI devices to your BV7 DVI socket I would recommend an HDMI switch preferably with an audio extractor for the HDMI output socket.
Thanks Stefen. If I was just going to connect the Firestick on its own? DVI (with split Audio) or SCART?
You need for more than one HDMI device:
1. a HDMI switch with separate coax sound output plus HDMI to DVI cable plus coax cable for Sound. All devices attach via HDMI to HDMI cable to the switch.
LINK or similar
OR
2. one HDMI to DVI plus Sound converter (Sound Can be spdif - but then you Need a spdif to coax converter, too).
You connect HDMI Input to your device and and HDMI Output via DVI cable to the DVI Slot. Sound via coax (Maybe converter first…)

OR HDMI to HDMI plus Sound converter (Sound Can be spdif - but then you Need a spdif to coax converter, too). You connect HDMI Input to your device and and HDMI Output via HDMI to DVI cable to the DVI Slot. Sound via coax (Maybe converter first…)
AND one HDMI to component (green, blue, red) plus Sound converter Sound Can be spdif - but then you Need a spdif to coax converter, too). You connect HDMI Input to your device and and component Output via componet cable to the componet slots. Sound via coax (Maybe converter first…)
This uses both HD Inputs on the BeoVision 7.
So lots of Options - I'd rather look for the now very cheap MK III version of the BeoVision 7-40 - with 4 HDMI Inputs...
They start as low as 650 € over here (including stand and Speaker).
Where do you live?

Thanks Ralf, great info.I have decided to just use the BV7 for viewing content via an Amazon Firestick which requires a female HDMI at one end and one of the options you have mentioned at the other. Is there any difference in output quality between DVI, SCART and Component?
Excellent, thanks!
Hi, ok so I am going to get a HDMI > DVI convector, Can anyone recommend one that will definitely work with a Firestick and a BV7 as there are loads out there.
