We just moved to a new place and my whole 90ies B&O setup is still boxed up and will need to be reinstalled one day. Right now th tv's speakers and an amazon echo is about all that plays some music. ...Not particularly the quality level of music we're enjoying....
Now the thing is I will be liquidating some of that setup and will have the pieces that I will keep refurbished as there are some issues with them and it is time to sort it all out.
My question is as follow : I do have a beolab 7.1 that I bought a few years ago but never installed. It is currently being sorted out because of a bad connector issue and I will pick that one up in a week or so.
1) Do you think its worth to use this beolab 7.1 a TV speaker ?2) Should I integrate it with my other speakers (BL8000 and BL3) for a 5.1 setup ? Worth the effort ?3) Or do you think this speaker just outlived it's usefulness and I should just sell it on eBay or something...
Thanks in advance for your help !
Anyone ?
It should be perfect for that application. That is basically what it was made for. You may just need to get with Steve from Sounds Heavenly for the right cables to connect it up.
Beosound 9000 MK III, Beosound Century, Beogram 5005, Beolab 8000, Beolab 5000, Beolab 4000, Beolab 5, Beovision 8, Beovision 10, Beovision 5, Beoplay A2, Beoplay E8, Beoplay H6.
I am using 7.1 with 42'' plasma tv. Also 7.2 with 55'' 4k tv.Both perfectly fitting the screen, and sound excellent. They are both stereo speakers, doing great job as soundbars.I am using them a lot as single speakers, enjyoing listening to non-demanding music.I integrated 7.2 with BL8000,BL4000 and BL2 in 5.1 setup and I am happy with that.
.But,if you have space enough,in real 5.1 surround sound setup, perhaps 7.4 as mono speaker will do better job for dialogues. It is up to yours preferences, give 7.1 try at first.

Hi cooldude,
Yes, Beolab 7-1 is a great speaker, perfect for either centre channel in a surround setup, or working on its own as a stereo TV speaker. It can be used with pretty much any TV (not just B&O) so please feel free to ask if you need any help getting it connected and working.
Kind regards, Steve.
