Has anyone got any personal experience of adding a Beolab 19 to an Eclipse. I eventually want some 18s to compliment it, but in the absence of over £4,000 I’m starting with this.

Apart from being wireless, what can it do better than the 2?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I find the BeoLab 19 a much tighter and precise bass than the rumbly and 'lazy' bass of the BeoLab 2.

I was at the launch of the BeoLab 19 and it was designed to compliment the soundtracks of the more modern movies (apparently).

It's not 'better' than the Lab2 - it's just different... in my opinion.

I’d agree with the comparison. My Beolab 2 rumbles and shakes the room (with BL8000’s powered by a BS3). I’ve got a 19 in another room with 18’s and the Avant, and it is more subtle. Still can move the room, but less “obvious”. Hard to explain, but the 2 I had to turn down in the settings and the 19 I turned up a notch. Wireless is a nice bonus.

I have that exact setup on an Eclipse, with the 18s as well. I moved from a 2 and precisely as Lee says, the sub just sounds much more controlled and tight with what it should be doing. It punches hard like a 2, but feels like an athlete versus someone overweight.

I’ve also connected wirelessly and it’s been 100% reliable.

Expensive as you say, but I’ve been very happy with the purchase.

If you’ve got the room size, I’d go 18s first for the biggest difference.
