I have bought my Beoplay S3 for quite sometime. It's sound magically for me but I have some delay issue when connecting via Bluetooth. I read that updating software can fix that but since I don't have any computer at home, I never updated it till today (I decided to bring it to my workplace). But I can't find the software updater to download anywhere.

I tried this link: https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en/product-support/loudspeakers/beoplay-s3

I click on that Windows link but it only lead me to this: https://www.bang-olufsen.com/en

Does that mean I can't update my S3 anymore? (perhaps because of S3 already discontinue?)

Hi Luatuadua,

My Beoplay Software Updater on my Mac recently updated itself, so the software is still available as of last Sunday.

Try this link (Windows version):

Hi,

Can you remember what SW version you originally had in the S3 and what SW ver. you updated to?

The reason why I ask is because I have an S3 but cannot either update the product via the update tool nor get connection to the B&O app.
My S3 have SW ver. 6.2.1

Hi Pindsen,

My S3s are boxed in storage, but when I last checked (Jul2020) they were on version 9.3.6

I have no record of the software version when I bought them.

Have you tried connecting them to your computer via USB before using the BeoPlay Software Update app?

Version 9.3.6 is the latest version available, I believe. It doesn’t fix BT latency - I believe that’s an issue with early BT versions, not the speaker software.

Hi,

I have the BT latency issue and can read in other posts that we will have to live with that. But is wonders me why I am not able to update via the PC tool and why I can't get connection to the B&O app.

With regards to updating I have tried many things, both connecting via USB before running the PC update tool and also tried connecting after the PC update tool starts the process - none of that works. The PC tool must have some kind of connection as it is able to readout the current SW version (6.2.1) but when trying to put the S3 into update mode it does not what it should. When I press the B&O button it should dimme down in white, it also dimmes down but dimmes up again by itself after 1-2 sec. so I am never able to put it into update mode by pushing the three buttons and the LED should start flashing red.

It’s been a while since I did an update, but iirc, you should be able to update the S3s via the B&O app. If you can see the speakers in the app, maybe give it shot.

Hi,

The S3 should be supported by the app as it is selectable but when trying to connect to the S3 the app keeps saying failed. I have tried to contact B&O support but so far I have not received any response.
I'm able to stream music via BT from my phone to the S3 using Spotify but the B&O app has no connection.

I know the phone and app works as it can connect to my A1.
