Hi all!
I started a small home project with some BeoBox 2-2 and I fist thought in a pair of BeoAmp 2 to connect them.
But for some reasons I need to know some good alternatives to the amplifier that works well with a B&O setup.
Does anyone know a good alternative to the BeoAmp 2?
Thanks!
Hi,
Welcome to Beoworld! BeoAmp 2 is a good option to drive a pair of Beovox 2-2 speakers, or the earlier Beolink Passive is also a good choice (if less powerful). Depending on the music source that you plan to use with these speaker, a non-B&O amplifier or receiver could also be a good option.
If you would like to let us know a bit more detail about your project, we will be pleased to help further!
Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve, thanks for the quick reply.
I want to use a BS Core to split the audio initially in three rooms of the house, but my wife doesn't want to see speakers so... my only (and accepted by her) choice is to install BeoVox 2-2 in the ceilings.
I'm making the budget and despite I know the BeoAmp is an excellent choice, I would like to explore cheaper -but not worse- alternatives.
The issue is, that you probably want an amp with line-in sense/autosense (means that it turns on/off by the source).
Otherweise you would need a remote control for the amp.
Since you speak of 3 rooms, you would need 3 amp....with the opportunity of looping through the signal of the BS Core from one to another.
Unfortunately I don’t know of any ‘cheaper’ solution for that than the BeoAmp 2’s.
Depending on the placement in the house, this also involves a great deal of cabling from a central point.
Another option (with less cabling) would be to install a set of BS Core and BeoAmp2 for each room.
Maybe you could convince your wife to get one or two pairs of the BL4000’s, which can be installed rather discrete.
This would lower the costs, since a pair of preloved BL4000’s come cheaper than a BeoVox2-2/BeoAmp 2 combo.
P.S. If anyone knows of a non-B&O amp with the needed options, I’d like to know it, too!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks MM,
That is a good solution. Another (although non-B&O) option is an amplified music streamer like Sonos Connect:Amp instead of the Core in each room.
Sure it would, but don’t expect me to suggest that here 😉
Thank you for the replies,
The thing is that I'm going to install an in wall switch to enable or disable the speakers in each room... The core is a must have cause I already own a BS1 and a M5 unit, so it is possible to set up a multiroom config that I can take outdoors, for example.
Sonos was considered but out for that what I explain.
