Evening all, can anyone help i have beocom 2500 the keypad is in english but the menus are in german.
Is it possible to change the language somehow?

Sadly it's not possible. It's a great phone though, so with a bit of help from Google translate you should be fine using it. The manual is available online (only to Silver and Gold members here, but you may be able to find a copy elsewhere).

You may find that the phone has been rebuilt by an enthusiast like me, using parts from different countries. I have loads (30+) of Beocoms from Denmark, Germany, UK and a single BC6000 with a Dutch menu. When carrying out repairs, I have certainly switched parts between several nations' Beocom 6000s and now have a few 'hybrids'!
Thanks for info, just got if going despite being in German had to put a new battery compartment in works ok just no caller id. I swapped it with another 2500 that has caller id but no joy. Double checked all names and numbers in phone book all ok any ideas?
I am pretty sure than different countries, even within Europe, have different caller ID systems. My Danish phone wouldn’t give caller ID when I lived In Germany, nor here in UK.

Hi,
according to the product page for the beocom 6000 here on beoworld.org the signaling of the CLI is the same in Germany and the UK. Both countries use the FSK ( Frequency Shift Key). So it should work. (Link to BeoCom 6000, scroll down to Handsets)
But it can only work if you get the CLI Information delivered from your provider. You stated that another BeoCom 2500 doesn't show the CLI neither. So i assume you don't get the CLI data to the jack, where the phone is connected.
EDIT: Just looked at the whole list and it's FSK for most Eurpean countries except Sweden, Danmark, the Faroer Islands and Netherlands who use the DTMF signaling (Dual Tone Multiple frequencies) which is using dialing tones . In every case the CLI signal is always transmitted between the first and the second ringing . Maybe your phone is connected to a telephone system. There is sometimes the possibility to suppress the first ringing, which is the start signal for the phone to 'listen' to the CLI signaling!

^ That would all make sense with my experience - it was my Danish phones that didn't work when I lived in Germany nor here in UK. I never tried my UK phones in Germany.
Mind you, I have noticed that the Caller ID system here in UK can be a little flaky (unreliable). Even though I have subscribed to the 'Caller ID' service from my provider (PlusNet), I reckon that my phones (now BC6000s) fail to display the number about 20% of the time, regardless of the number of rings.
