Dear friends, i have a beomaster 5500 with cx100 speakers and a blink 1000. I bought this morning a jack to connect the iphone to the beomaster via the earphone output located on the front of the beomaster in mind to play the iphone music from the beomaster.  I thought it may work if i could switch the beomaster to aux mode but i cannot find it using the beolink. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I might be a little confused, but I think you mean you have the iPhone headphone output connected by a cable to one of the BM5500 inputs- not the front headphone output. If you did, you would have two outputs connected together, and that just can’t work. Instead, you can get a nice iPhone to din connector cable from Steve at SoundsHeavenly to tie into one of your available line level inputs if you Beomaster. You just can’t use the phono input because that uses an internal RIAA amplifier to boost and equalize the cartridge output.

My BM is quite full, so I use the Tape2 input. You can select that input using a Beolink 1000 through “Shift” and then “A.Tape”. Make sure you have your iPhone volume level turned way up when connected to the Beomaster, and turned down to normal level when disconnected.

Hi jacqueselie,

Welcome to Beoworld!  Yes, the headphone socket is an output from the Beomaster, you need an input socket like the Tape socket on the rear panel to feed sound from the phone into the B&O system.  This cable will allow you to connect an iPod or phone to the Tape socket on the back of your B&O system:-

https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/minijack-to-aux-in-ipod-to-beosound-beomaster-beocenter-using-aux-din-socket

Please set the phone volume to maximum when connecting to the B&O system – this is normal when using a portable music player with a home audio system due to the low output levels produced by the phone.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
