What type of battery should be used for a replacement in a Beocom 5? My Beocom5 has a LPP 383450 8TH. It seems that Varta was the only company that produced a LPP 383450 8TH in the past. However it seems that no one is selling these batteries anymore. Does someone know which battery to use instead or which battery Bang and Olusfsen is selling as replacement. You need to buy a total backcover at the B&O shop for a battery replacement. ☹️

Hi,

i found a company on eBay that sells a replacement battery. One of the problems I found was finding the right size but I have solved it now.

i will try and remember to sort out the details for you tomorrow.

I also need to replace the battery on my BeoCom 5.  Can someone please provide instructions on how to do this?  I have been told that the instructions exist in the Beocom 5 service manual, but I have not been able to obtain such document.

There is a service tool for this but you can do it yourself by using a thin metal blade and pushing it gently between the outer case and the keyboard. There are three places on each side which need to be gently prised apart to release the keypad from the back.you then need to release the battery connection. Now you have access to the battery. These are stuck in but can be gently eased off. You can now measure it in order buy one the same size from ebay.
