Brand new member and brand new owner of B&O gear! Its all a bit exciting/confusing so please bear with me!
Just got hold of a mint condition Beomaster 1200 RG, beautiful bit of furniture with a beogram 1000 (which sounds sweet as the day it was made) and a beocord 2000 deluxe reel to reel. I have fallen in love with this object but unfortunately the reel to reel powers up, will make a sound when hand turning the reel but will not spin under its own power.
I'm brand new to to vintage reel to reel but not completely incompetent with electronics, perhaps more confidence than competence tho?!
Can anyone suggest where I start to troubleshoot this? I have heard from various forums that the belts aren't too tough to change but definitely fiddly. Should i open her up or leave her be?
Any suggestions would be gratefully received
