moxxey: Robin: Well CB, you have challenged Peter Pan on this one :-) There are two reasons, why I think PP is wrong on this one. Happy to be called out on this one, but I'm sure someone "in the know" (Roger?) said that that he expected the next B&O release to be a soundbar for other TVs? I'm also sure someone said their dealer claimed a soundbar was coming soon? Can't see it being a new TV. We're still expecting larger versions of the Eclipse and they seem to be taking an eternity. Can't visualise a brand new TV so soon.

It's a TV alright.
One size only - think very large.
Similarly for price.
Some suggestion that the sound part can be bought separately.
Also for large price.
Cue forum fury.
Exciting thread, this one 😉
MM

Aussie Michael:Quite an emotional campaign there Rob. Thanks for posting.
Robin: Aussie Michael: Quite an emotional campaign there Rob. Thanks for posting. Well yeah. Even thought I probably can’t afford it still have a desire in new stuff. I’m still not sure about that tv thing. There is no hint (in my opinion) whatsoever. There are only soundsystems shown (from the past) and the invitation only states about revolutionary movement and sound. Nothing about picture 🤷♂️

I was thinking exactly the same thing, seems like an audio product from what has been said. Whatever it is, am looking forward to seeing it and learning for certain what it is.
Beolab 28s Beolab 9s Beolab 12-3s Beolab 1s Beolab 6000s 2 pairs Beolab 4000s Beovision 7-55 Beovision 10-40 Beoplay V1 32 inch Beovision Avant 32 inch Beosound 1 (CD player) Beosound 3000 Beosound 5 Core Essence MKII Beoplay M5
The logo has puzzled me too, especially since there really is only one correct way of putting it on a product. However, it was put on top on the LX series of televisions on a thin aluminium profile similar to the picture shown. Another thing worth noticing is the 45-degree mitred corner assembly of the aluminium parts, so far this tricky technique has only been used for Beovision frames.
Razlaw:The more I look at the picture, the more I wonder if the Bang and Olufsen logo is on the front, and not the top as it appears in the picture. I can not think of any B and O product that says Bang and Olufsen on top as opposed to the front.......
We will probably be disappointed when we see the result. That's how it has been for a long time.
Peter Pan:We will probably be disappointed when we see the result. That's how it has been for a long time.
Whatever it turns out to be and whatever moves, I hope there is some purpose to it - i.e. the movement does something (even remotely) useful, e.g. like opening the doors as you approach (BS3000 etc.).
What I hope it isn't, is irrelevant movement, or movement for movements sake, like the rising of the BV4-85/103 - which was absolutely pointless - why does your TV need to be at carpet level when you're not watching it!
Ban boring signatures!
Duels:It’s on the top on the BL18.
Razlaw: Whatever it is, we should know tomorrow.
Monday for the press :-)

Well done...beat me by 1 minute!
Watching the video, that's a little absurd to me.
In its resting state, it looks a bit silly (again, to me)
Not an obvious candidate for the wall mounting fans amongst us.
Earle: Thinking about what PeterBOBP mentioned.... Take a closer look at the panels,... they are spread further apart as you move away from the separation of the aluminium frames. Curious indeed. The graphic may not indicate movement at all, but may just indicate the permanent spacing of the panels. HOWEVER, I'd bet that the semi-circle lines in the graphic are what is indicative of whatever movement is planned. **Edited to include my interpretation of what I'm trying to get at.

your prediction was spot on!
I wonder how much of the moving part is speaker - all of it, just the top part?
I doubt it's all of it, as that would be a monstrous sound in theory.

Also, it does not appear to have an option to rotate the screen, at least from what I can see.
That stand doesn't appear to be rotatable, no....
I believe that model is a 77 inch, which is what it being launched first.
My UK dealer says it will be around 20 grand (GBP).
One question - Why??

To me too:- Closed, the TV is hidden, but a weird, useless object is still on display.- Open, be ready to wipe each time the frame of dust were the screen is not protected by the grids in closed state.
I can't really see the point of that design…

77 inch. So difficult to appreciate the scale of the thing from the video. At that size there is perhaps less need for rotation, and sideways viewing of the latest screens is pretty good compared with the early LCDs where you had to view more or less straight on.
But is it a work of art when switched off? I'm not so sure. It's certainly an interesting mobile piece of art when actually switching on or off.
Graham
That was my thought too.....why?
I guess as a niche piece of design, the concept and execution is ok.
But much like the Edge.....why? i.e. usable in pretty limited circumstances.
I know companies must move forward etc, but surely all we needed was a BV11/14 design with an OLED panel.
There is, I guess, a bit more to look at with this vs the Eclipse...so in a sense more interesting.
But beautiful, I dont think so.
When unfolded it is truly massive.
Pretty cool!
