Hello All. I have a Beogram RX2 since new, had it well packed in its original box for about 28 years. I just got it out and connected to a new Amp digital and tubes (Heaven11 Billie amp), and Quad ESL2812 speakers. It worked perfect for a couple of hours, (great clean, round sound by the way).
Then I played a Edgar Froese album (Stuntman) which demands some performance and increased the volume much. Great sound... and suddenly the RX2 stopped, frozen. The arm fixed where it was in the record (middle of the first tune) stiff, the on-off did not respond, nor anything.
Al forst I though the amp got protected for the power demanded by the speakers but tried music through bluetooth and went perfect. So I turned everything off and waited for the next day to see if it was a heat issue.. in the morning I unplugged was plugged the RX2, turned all on and the RX2 remains as it was, can not even move the arm manually because it got fixed where it was.
No smoke, no burn smell, no signals, just frozen !... Have anyone an idea or hint what might had happened or what to look for, routines to perform, to fix it. ?!
Thanks in advance... have a great day !
I would check the internal fuse on the RX2.
Thank you Keith, I'll do that, seems logical. I should get the service manual though. Regards. LF
If you upgrade to Silver membership, you can download the manual.
Thanks again, I just got a copy of the manual, but I should upgrade anyway. Regards.
