Greetings from Alabama. I have sold a set of Beo18 speakers and need to ship them. Where can I find information on the proper way to ship them? What I truly need is information on how to remove the heavy bases from the speakers. I have been Googling and clicking around and can't find a diagram or instructions on how to do that. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks! Anna

Hello!

Okay... first things first, you really need to buy the official/original transport packaging if you don't already have it. The BeoLab 18's are still quite expensive speakers even used/secondhand, so it's definitely worth investing in the correct transport materials!

The bases do indeed detach from the main speaker bodies with a single nut, and from memory they need a special two-pronged 'key' to easily undo them. You can do it with a screwdriver and a small hammer though - but be careful!

The final thing to note is that the grilles (or, Lamellae) need to be removed. There is also special packing for this, which I would also buy - especially if you have the eye-wateringly expensive wooden grilles!!
