What comes to mind is that time on Happy Days when Fonzie jumped the shark.

From what my dealer told me at the weekend, its launched as a 77 inch.

Price in the 20k GBP area.

August as well.

For the beta testers out there.

Arguably Henry Winklers current stock price is higher than B&O's.....

Such positivity! Unwarranted! Seems like the much rumoured exit from the tv business was equally unwarranted.

Totally B&O. Really nice! I’d go as far as to say they’ve found their mojo on this one.

Being LG based will mean it’s great out of the box.

Unwarranted? I don’t think so, I was one for both or their new products. It was awfull at the start, they fixed most of it now but still. Here’s hoping that because it seems to be a more 1.2 version than a 2.0 there will be less issues to start with, that would be nice!

New: Beovision Harmony, Beolab 50's, Beolab 28's, Beolab 18's, Beolab 17's, Beosound Stage & LG, Beosound 2, Beoplay M3, Beoplay A1, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay H4 gen 2, Beoplay E8 3.0

At 20 grand, people are more than welcome to take the plunge....

I would say this - design wise, its a stronger statement than recent efforts, which I guess isn't a bad thing.

My look better in person, so we'll need to wait and see.

As for TV exits - I was told the following back in January.

- They would come with a large screen TV, as they feel some customers want > 65 inches.

- They Eclipse would become end of line this year.

- There would be no more BV's beyond this.

Todays announcement may well be consistent with that path / plan, but in the end it may not matter.

There remain doubts over the sustainability of a BV business, much as I'd welcome that they find a way in the video side of things.

Must.

Not.

Ctriticise

In other news, the 2/3 loss of stock price / value is mere noise.

That, or its the fault of forum members.

Go figure.

No. No. No. couldn’t be more wrong! Let’s use the Harmony as a way of drawing a line under these false rumours and observations.

Hmm. Would like to see it in person as I'm sure it's more impressive with the movement and the materials etc. in person.

Would also like to see how it looks wall mounted. The size of the speaker vs the panel doesn't look proportionate from the pics but I guess that is a hommage to the older BeoVisions.

Then of course I hope they keep delivering timely software updates that the actual LG branded panels themselves receive.

So I think this is a very nice design and at 3x the price of the basic tv from LG while still expensive, seems understandable and even defendable. I, for one, am impressed.

I wonder if I in the long run would have the patience to wait for the panels to swing into place Smile

Certainly a new take on television / soundcentre though..

Would be cool if the visible parts of the TV panel could be used to present info regarding what is playing on the sound system, but I guess that would require a closer integration with the video part than what is actually done here.

My question is how many "Halo products" B&O need. almost 20K eur for a TV is not for everyone, nor is a screen of this size.

Agree. Assume that to be a fixed bracket. Otherwise the TV have to be quite far out from the wall to enable the panels to do their thing.

Other alternative would be that the panels first fan out and then the TV swing out into position, but I think that in total would take too long time.

It really does. It looks like something designed in 1979 and brought to life in 2019 😳

Don't hold your breath. The other day my dealer (he called the TV "butterfly") told me plenty of dealers are furious because there was no option except the stand.

Hopefully he is wrong!

I'll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh but it looks clumsy in the pictures, and I can't help feeling the speaker movement is just design for design's sake. I suspect David Lewis would not have approved...

I have to admit the design is growing on me, but 77-inch only is a no-go.

@Sandb: you're fairly spot on, as always.

The Eclipse and the Horizon were declared EOL last month (March) and B&O is, sort of, exiting the TV market: This is a lift and a speaker system for the 77" and 88" LG TV's. As B&O "lost" control of the totality, mounting options had to be limited to a controlled lift environment: wall mounting or turning a 3. party screen is difficult from an HSE point in todays world (liability). At the first presentation B&O hadn't even decided if the LG TV should be supplied by the dealer or by another party (Dixons a.o.).

For that you get to choose between a combined oak wood/aluminium front or a combined grey melange two-tone fabric/aluminium front,

and you get to decide if you want to employ the included floor stand or wall bracket.

Cool but also a bit odd. I wish they would also introduce a sound center without the tv at all. I want to integrate a projector or wallpaper tv in my home and run it with the finesse of B&O.

Should add that I'm very happy to see that B&O is still focusing on the BeoVision side - and not only releasing headphones and portable speakers.

The final version of the Harmony is stunning, but at a price point that will not help most B1's - but the sound bar and the other video product to be released later will hopefully increase in-store traffic with their more affordable price points.

Today, IMHO, B&O is great at the very high end of audio & video - and at the Beoplay end... they are struggling with the middle part that most here are interested in.

...hope there will be something at 55"/65" size with appropriate price adjustment for "regular people".

Like it, btw, and can't wait to learn more about it.

Hallo Roger,

Good to hear from you.

Does it mean you can buy a C9 display, and then only the stand at B&O,

And how does that function with the hardware?

Hallo Roger,

What is B&O argument to make the Eclipse EOL, All dealers I have spoken with, have been more than satisfied with the sales?

Also should be easy to make the C9 fit.

Could not think the dealers is happy with this situation.

I can’t decide if I like it or not. Part of me thinks it’s an amazing moving sculpture. Another part is scratching my head. Guess I’ll need to see it in the flesh (as is always the case) to decide. But whatever the case, it’s an ambitious effort.

I do hope there are inbuilt sensors to stop the speakers if they come into contact with pets or small children! I’m sure that will have been thought of.

slightly different video here - god it looks huge!

Impressive I guess, in its own way.

Looks better closed than open.

Open, the speaker part is just too big in relation to the screen....

Hello Emil,

As you probably know, especially the Danish dealers didn't like the initial idea that Struer came up with as it basically meant that customers could buy the screen elsewhere and that the much loved B&O remote was dropped. There were a lot of feelings around the remote part. I think that the solution for the Harmony will please the dealers, as the iminent soundbar of course will be used with 3. party TV's. Here the remote issue remains, and might be one of the reasons why the March release of the soundbar was dropped? CEC communication opens up a lot of possibilites for B&O, even more so than the previous STB-C and PUC systems could do.

I agree, motion just because, well, we want to have something moving. I liked the Avant's motion better, and thought it wasn't needed design wise. This looks tacked on, and slow. The motion on other things like glass doors made sense.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
