Hi all, I want to make up a PUC IR Y splitter (part code 6174171) for my old Avant 32 DVD to give me independent STB control on the V.AUX scart in addition to the SAT scart input, does anyone know the wiring diagram for it so I can solder one together?

I understand I will need a 3.5mm stereo 3 pole jack and 2x mono female 3.5mm sockets for the IR blasters to plug into. The sets used by the kids in the play room and given the age of the set I don't really want to spend loads buying a ready made cable! Many thanks! Rob.

I would image you need the following

Stereo jack plug

Two mono female jack sockets

Wiring should be ground to the two grounds on each of the female jacks

One of the three pins to one of the females and the other to the other one.

Not sure if anyone can confirm this but from memory it is a stereo jack to two mono females - like this

Hi Andrew, thanks for the help, makes sense. I've just found a similar 3.5mm strereo breakout lead which explicitly says it breaks the left & right channels into separate jacks for a fiver delivered from amazon which should be wired as you describe. It would cost the same in parts to make so I've gone ahead and bought it! It'll be here tomorrow so I'll report back on whether it's worked. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000068O5H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cheers,

Rob.

Hi Rob

Yes, do let us know how it goes - pretty sure that would work as I think I had a sky box and appletv connected to my avant - great TV by the way

I agree it's great TV and the sound is amazing, picked it up for only £10 too! Love how it can distribute a different source over ML whilst watching another.

Hi Andrew, just to say thanks for your help, the Y cable I bought off amazon worked a treat! Rob.
