Beautiful picture and beautiful system!   Am I viewing the picture correctly?  Silver speakers with the bronze tone edition fabric?

Looking more closely at pictures, it appears the fabric covers go right up to the metal part of the speakers. The metal grill appears to have a gap between the small squares and the metal of the speaker, I am sure necessitated by the design. However, if that area surrounding the metal squares is black, I am beginning to think the metal front would not look good on the silver speakers.

Agree about the setting and the speakers. A different, yet well matched and consistent color scheme. However for the the first time ever I think the "Beovision" is intruding and somewhat disturbing the tranquility of the room. Usually they blend in anywhere. Perhaps its the dominant black underlining the vastly different design expressions between the BL50 and the Eclipse,- which I honestly never really noticed before. A  BV-12 might be the perfect match here ?

I loved the how the 50s looked when I first saw the picture. The more I look at, the more I like it. The fabric appears to have slight color variations. That is very cool. Absoultely beautiful

I don't know what the material is called but in the photo it does make the silver look a little like the bronze.

I will see if I can post more pictures but the process is not exactly easy :-(

Agreed about the black - that's why I am getting the oak cover on the TV which matches the side panels and the 18's which are wall-mounted back speakers.

Wouw!

I would NEVER had guessed this was the same room as the first picture. Its such a thrill when someone strays from the ordinary, and use bold colors!

A life less ordinary as the old B&O add once said. Absolutely brilliant Max!

Is that a Beocom 6000 I spot on the coffee table. Smile

Another question about 50s.....My current system is BV7-55 with 20s and 12-3s. Any opinions which would be the better upgrade? Replace the 20s with 50s, or replace the BV7 with a 65 inch Eclipse? Price is not a factor as due to trade in on the 50s, and no trade in on the Eclipse, as well as some new furniture to go with the Eclipse, the price is about the same for either option. Thanks!

Probably you already have a pretty strong feeling one way or the other, and this question is just to see if anybody will have points you haven't thought of yet.  So here's a bunch of random thoughts:

One of the B&O Pod(cast) People said (in episode 56?/57/??) that switching TVs actually improved the sound of his separate speakers -- presumably due to a new decoding chip?  You might want to ask the dealer if they have similar experience.  My feeling, having seen and listened only briefly, would be: BeoLab 20's are decent -- so the biggest difference between them and the 50's will be if you now want an on-axis "sweet spot" (primary listening position) that you will use for listening to music.  (Yes, yes, there are *all kinds* of improvements -- but will they change your life, if you principally use speakers for soundtracks on your TV?). The difference between a backlit LCD screen (even with zones like the 7-55) versus an OLED screen is like night and day because of the black levels.  But if you aren't one of those people who watch movies at night in a darkened room, you may not care.  Again with the off-axis bit, the opposite of the speakers: If you are a casual TV watcher in a living room and not directly in front of the screen, the OLED will be a huge improvement over the grey/washed-out colors of the LCD you get from the side.  Don't forget you have to buy yourself a CD/DVD player for the Eclipse too; in 5.1 the 7-55 built-in unit was just fine of course.  One other thing I have no personal experience with: Is the slender center channel (i.e. the TV speaker) on the Eclipse good enough to best the box on your 7-55?  Speaker cubic volume does matter, but maybe with modern DSP correction it doesn't?  (What made me think of this?  The speaker in my BeoVision 10 is just awful by comparison to either choice!)

As I said, randomness, but maybe something will stick...

I would be very careful describing the difference between the Eclipse and the BV7-55 as night and day, that is simply incorrect.

Its picture is better but not to that degree.

The speakers in the Eclipse is a one shoe fits all concept,- whereas the BV7 is flexible. And it does come with a BlueRay player and all the Cinema functionality, in this department the Eclipse draws a blank!

The Eclipse has WISA, except it wont really work with BL50 or 90.

Properly more like noon and 2pm!

Get a LG C8 or C7 OLED TV place it next to the BV7 and do your own comparison, Its the only way to make a personal judgement call!

If the OLED impresses you THEN you replace the BV7 with the Eclipse.

yes, that's the cover colour of the cloth on the bronze edition ones but this one is on an A9 as my dealer doesn't have that one. obviously you can order that too so I thought ''why not include it for reference''. I have a few more pics but they're more of the same on different angles but would be happy to post them if you like?

Thank you! Your pictures really help. They may be saving me some money. I am not as in love with the silver grills on the silver 50s as much as I thought I would. Very much like the cloth from the bronze collection, but not sure how it would look with a gray wall behind it. Looks like I may be back to the standard silver with black cloth.

I'd personally would go with the standard oak and black cloth as that'll fit with grey but most of all with most other colours too. I can take more pics of mine in my new place if you like? My walls are still white so nice and neutral for your efforts Stick out tongue

I am going to stay away from the oak. Given my room’s layout, the oak would never be seen so not worth the extra money for it. So it will probably be black on all three sides. My fiancee’ still thinks I should get the metal fronts after seeing your pictures. I have seen the pictures and videos of the the 50s and your Eclipse in you old place. Is your Eclipse a 55 or 65?

Hi Razlaw,

Makes sense in your case.

My eclipse is of the 55'' variety and yes on the black cloth version the edges are covered with cloth. On the metal ones the black plastic looks nice though, it's not something i'd be bothered by it. It has a sort of texture so it isn't smooth and light comes of it very softly(almost like the cloth one).

I finally got new cables but still no luck, again it's a lot less but I think either in the tv or in the master there is a bad ground somewhere. Cat7 between the speakers is fine and so are other cat 5e or cat6 cables, but between the tv and the master is where the problem is... cat 7 gives ticking, cat 6 gives ticking and an electro sound when changing volume and or anything speaker related(data ground) and cat 5e gives the least of ticking and my cheapest cat 5e cable doesn't give any but the most electro sound. Spoke with Willie and he also confirms that's a bad ground on the data channel, so now we have to find out if it's in the tv or in the master speaker. I don't want to burst your bubble, but this is what I am dealing with

Hope you get the problem solved. It is very disappointing to hear of such ongoing problems. And thank you again so very much for all of the pictures and all of the information you have provided. I will probably move forward with the purchase, but will be going with the fabric covers.

Sometimes is hard to tell what a color really looks like in a picture. On your silver 50s does the cloth color look more brown or more gray?

Nowhere near grey - definitely a brown darker than a light fawn.

The thing about the silver is that it reflects the items and surfaces around so you can influence the colours fairly easily.
