Hi,

I have booked BV 7-40 a month back. I have asked my dealer whether it is MK5 or MK6. He did not reply back to me. I am more interested in MK5 as I have vision problem. I will never watching 3D. Also, I want to save the money if possible.

Currently, If B&O is selling MK5; then what I will be missing against MK6 beside 3D and how much will be price difference? Is it possible to have MK6 without 3D option?

How I can ensure that the dealer price is correct?

It is easy to see the difference on the MK5 and MK6.

As you get it with blu-ray, you can just look at the back side of the TV.
The MK6s blu-ray module is smooth on the rear where the non-3D blu-rays have grooves (just as the whole rear cover of the TV).

Another option is to look at the blu-ray lid from the front. When it is closed on the MK6, the alu-frame that goes around the TV will be bigger than the lid. On the non-3D the lid will be flush with the frame when closed.

This is what is looks like on the MK6:

And on the non-3D:

The MK6 is by default a 3D as the panel is different from the MK5.
On the 7-55 there is a noticible difference in overall picture quality on the non-3D (MK1) and the 3D (MK2). The 3D screen being the best. I'm not shure about the 7-40 though.
