For the past decade we take our Beosound 3 with us outside when the sun comes out and spend most of the day on the terrace. At least my wife and the kids does, I have to work sometimes..
Normally we use the M5 for music listening to TuneIn in the kitchen/livingroom. My wife takes the Essence Remote with her wherever she takes place and controls the volume whenever needed.
But now with the forthcoming month's to come where the sun starts to shine more, I want to replace the BS3 with a more modern version.
But which one would be a wisely choice? Ideally there should be some kind of P6 with wireless and some buttons for starting TuneIn and/or Music, apart from the volumebuttons. I have an AP outside, so reception of the wireless signal isn't a problem.
My wife likes all the stuff we have around the house, but mostly the only thing she does is hitting the M5 to start TuneIn. She "hates" it to use her phone or tablet to start music.
So, what would be a wise choice as successor for the BS3? Personally I find the BS1 a rather heavy one to take with me every time I go outside. Another thing would be that the sound from the BS1 isn't as good as the M5. A better choice would be the BS2, but this one is even more heavy and can't be used without a powercord.
A P6 is easy to handle but misses the wireless.
Any suggestions?
In the current lineup the Beosound 1 is the best choice for your use case. It runs on battery and you can adjust volume in a very easy and comfortable way, just like on the old Beosound 3. There's a charging dock available which fits both Beosound 1, the MK1 without Google Assistand and the new one with that Google thingy. And you can pair it with an Essence remote, too.

Fansastic:The BS1 mk2 with Google Assist had a bass upgrade and is noticeably better than the mk1 (to my limited experience in the store). But still not good enough as the M5 and especially the BS2. I own a BS2 and it is has so punchy bass that I even find it a bit to much in some cases.
I can confirm that the sound has been improved with BS1 Mk2. I replaced my mk1 with mk2.

I've not heard the MK2, but found the MK1 a little poor for my ears. Was impressed with the Beolit 17 though and that's very portable. Another option?

I like the Bronze edition! Very nice. Just wondering whether it's easy to take it with you outside.
Some say that it shouldn't be picked up underneath the upper part as it might bend, other say that it won't harm the BS1.
The idea is to replace the M5 in the kitchen with this or something else which you can take with you.
Agree that bending the top part appear to be impossible by just carrying it around. That BS1 has to be dropped to get that damage, for sure.
