Hello,
I wonder if there is a possibility to get access to the Bang & Olufsen Service tool to update the system and PUC list on old TVs.
Our dealer over here won't service and update those old BeoVision 7's as they say it is too time consuming and people won't pay for it. It seems they have more to do with the new gear.
I found a page with instructions on the cable etc but you also need the service tool. http://www.myb2b.dk
Living room: BeoVision 7 MKV + BeoLab 7-2 + 2x BeoLab 8000 + BeoLab 2 + 2x BeoLab 4000Office / guest room: BV 7-32 MKIV / BL7-1; BeoSound Core + TurntableKitchen: BeoPlay M3Bathroom: Gira Radio + BeoLab CelestialEntrance: BeoPlay M3
Strange...my understanding of the link you posted is quite the opposite. That site has a link for the service tool, but do not mention the cable...
Forget it. Just checked again.
I thought that the BtB Upgrader was the service tool.
Hi guys is there any news on this? I really need the Service Tools as it seems we stuck on the old BeoVision 7 because the new TVs don't support our homecinema setup with a projector.
My dealer unfortunately won't give support and updates on old BeoVisions and we would need a softwareupdate and new PUCs for both of our BeoVisions. Sadly they are to heavy to carry to our old dealer that is 250km far away and sending a technician 250km one way would be really expensive as they charge 100€ an hour.
I have the exact equipment you need for sale.. In fact, I have a full service kit for the BeoSystem 3 / ML era !!
Click on the beobuyer advert at the top of the page and send me a message :)
Hi Lee - quick question- do you need a B&O login to access the software within the service tool? I think a lot of us are in a similar situation and would be keen to undertake our own updates, but my understanding was that it is impossible without a valid B&O login ID? Really interesting if that is not the case!

Hi Lee - quick question- do you need a B&O login to access the software within the service tool?
Yes, you did need a login. I had one years ago, but when the dealer went bust the login went with him and eventually got cancelled.
From what I understood in the previous posts on this thread, this software is now available to download? I no longer deal in the older ML televisions so conversely no longer need this equipment.
Doe that mean that we only need to download the software and buy the special cables? That would be very good for ML owners and the PUC problems...
So as far as it comes to my knowledge there is no direct download link to the tool. There is only an instruction how to build the Service tool.
I think many people like me have the problem that dealers won't service old devices anymore. I know some dealers that help with the BeoSystem 3 as you can send the device to the dealer but the old TVs are not being serviced as it is not economical for them.
As far as I know this Tool (still) can not be downloaded free.
Anyway you’d need an account for the online access in order to download updates, new sw, new PUC entries etc.
Some dealers/technicians might stiil have/use it - I guess it nowaday is just a part of what the dealers use on a daily basis.
I used to have it - might still be on an old laptop of mine (not running on a modern Windows OS).
Years ago it could be quite easy to ‘borrow’ an account - many from former employees, technicians were still active…..untill the sorted that out in Struer.
Haven’t used it for ages - borrowing the needed cables was pretty easy.
But the cables alone probably won’t help much.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi,
why should it no be econominal for them?
i guess they charge for labour and travel..?
question is if you want to pay for it and see it econominal?
i only know that if you have a beo 6 they dont want to touch it
because tool is very buggy and can be time consuming (time they cannot charge because bugs)
My dealer over here says that it is very time consuming to service a BeoVision 7 and that they see a lot of bugs during the updates so they won't service them. They recommend buying a new one what I really can understand but in our situation we have to stick with the BV7 as we need the homecinema module that modern TVS from B&O don't have.
If there is someone who can help or can service an old BV7 in the Nuremberg Area of Germany I would be very happy.
