I’m using regular shielded Ethernet cat 7, no issue at all.

Yes! They are better then perfect! The class is really of no importance, but the type of shielding is : LSZH S/FTP is prefered

And thanks to the Chinese you now have to stay clear of CCA (copper clad aluminum) types, usually the found among the cheaper stock!

Hi,

Avoid standard Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables, these are unshielded, so unsuited to audio use.  Cat 7 cables should have shielding for each pair so these are fine for RJ45 Powerlink, as is the case with a few specialist STP Cat 6 cables.  As mentioned previously, beware of any cable with CCS (copper coated steel) or CCA (copper coated aluminium) in the title, as these are unsuitable for this application (whether shielded or not).

Hope this helps!

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
