I have been looking at the BeoPlay M3 to use as stand alone bluetooth/airplay speaker, but I would like to know what possibilities it has for future use.

As with many of the newer products it can be ard to keep track of the constant changing functionality due to software updates, and B&O's product sheets aren't to much use in that regard, and even with the information i can find on this forum it is hard to see the full picture.

so here is what I would like to know:

1) Does it have Airplay 2 with the newest software?

2) Will it work in a B&O multiroom environment with a BeoPlay V1 TV?

3) If so will it also be able to function as an integrated source for the V1?

4) And if so what limitations are there, for example will an airplay stream work and turn on the TV?

Thanks in advance

I’ve got an M3/V1 combo.

1. AirPlay 2 is working!

2. You can expand the AirPlay 2 stream to the V1.

3. Integration can be selected but doesn’t have any extra benefit as I am concerned.

4. You can start a source from the M3 from the V1, but the M3 will start  to play as well.

Ok thank you for the answers. What I was hoping to do with integration is start an airplay stream from my phone and make the TV start playing it without interacting with the BEO4 remote.

Does that sound possible?

Exacly that is the difference between ‘integrating with’ and ‘connected to’.

You can not integrate a music system (like the M3) with a BV (you can integrate a Core or an Essence).

But you can connect it - meaning that you can start the sources (of the M3) from the source menu there....using the beoremote or the Bang & Olufsen app.

The M3 will hereby be muted.

The M3 and the V1 must be accordingly set up!

AirPlay (2) on the V1 (from the M3) can only be acchieved using the Join command.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV
