Apple TV 3 (fast) forward and rewind not working

Hi,

Not sure if this the right place, but my ATV 3 doesn’t do ffwd and frwd anymore. ATV is connected with my BV10 but even with Apple remote the (fast) forward and rewind doesn’t work as should.

Is this a bug, is it malfunction i.e. would a new unit solve my problem. Looked on some Apple forums as well but no avail.

Have you tried restarting/rebooting the Apple TV?

Yes i did Jeff, thanks. Tried different networks and nothing helped.

FFWD only 1st arrow (double speed) works , other 2 don’t

FRWD none of the arrows works.

Really weird ... i am leaning towards buying a new one and see if that works.

I have an Apple TV 4, and I have never used a remote with one or two arrows on it, I've only used the touch remote that comes with it to skip around and fast forward/back, so sadly I'm out of ideas. Hope you get it sorted out. I guess with a new one you'd be set for 4K if and when you ever upgrade to that.

I guess the only other thing to check would be to see if there's a firmware update for your Apple TV 3 but it's weird that it'd stop working suddenly.

The arrows I referred to are the ones you see on screen. The 90degree tilted triangles.

I use Beo4 remote to operate ATV, but same problem is with orginal Apple remote.

Using the ATV and its remote I don't see those on my screen. Odd. when I touch the touch pad I see a line on the bottom of the screen with numbers at each end, start time, how much is left in minutes, where the video is now in minutes, and a linear bar of time, if I tap it again the numbers change to time it will finish.
