Hello,

I bought an RX w/o a functioning needle, and I have a SMMC4 on order.

There is a "Classic Audio Repair" facility here in San Diego, California that has a lot of positive yelp reviews. I'd like to have this 80s turntable serviced/maintained.

What are the main things that need to be done on Beogram RX as the years go by.  What are the typical cleaning and adjusting and replacing the these units need?

Thank you.

The typical items like the belts, lubrication points, and possible speed adjustments. There is also a height adjustment if the platter is not correct.

What Dom said, - and the speed trimmers often need replacing by now.

I can supply correct belts for most Beogram, Beocenter and Beocord models - also the special triangular ones for the servo motor in the tangential decks.
Email or PM me.

So to sound intelligible when I bring my RX to the audio repair shop I can say I'm interested in having it serviced and I'd like to make sure these things are addressed;

  • belts
  • lubrication points
  • speed adjustments
  • platter height adjustment
  • speed trimmer (replace if necessary)

And I should bring in my own RX specific belts. Anything else?

Thanks

I have my replacement cartridge, and the replacement belt.  I called several repair shops and one guy agreed to work on it.

I'm going to bring it in, and if it doesn't need anything major he should be able to do these maintenance and adjustments, and I should finally have my RX playing music soon.  Thanks

I realized this is vague.  What are the main (or all) places on the RX that need lubrication?
