Hi Stephanie,
This is Couldbfishin, or Gary, in Houston, TX. I have the same BeoSystem 5500 and several spares. I do minor repairs and could certainly help you with the set up. I guess the odds of you being in Houston are astronomical, so it would have to be done on line and with photos.
Do you have any manuals with this pile of equipment and wiring?
If so, look for the manual for the BeoMaster 5500. That is the receiver (preamp, amp and tuner integrated into one unit). Then look for the manual for the Master Control Panel 5500. That is the table top remote control.
If you have those, read through them and we can get started.
If everything is working, you have the components of a fine sounding system. And, for what you paid, it is a real bargain. I bought my first system for about $250 at an estate sale 5-6 years ago and it sounds great. I have purchased additional spare components along the way, most of which need some repairs.
The cables are somewhat unique for the B&O system. Hopefully you have them all. Most will connect onto the back of the receiver/BeoMaster 5500. So, find it, set it down on a table or counter top where you can get to it. There is a black door on the back of the top of the receiver/BeoMaster 5500. It has slats in it and hinges forward. So take the back most corner and pull back on it, towards the front of the receiver. It will hinge open and you will see the places to connect wires.
Read the instruction book and let me know what questions you have. Glad to help you.

Hi! Thank you for your reply to my distress call :)..that's funny I used to live in Massachusetts right up until 2015 but now I live in sunny Florida...I'm going to take you up on any information that I can get as to how this all works...this BEO LINK B&O stuff is all new to me.This stuff was all purchased at the same time from the one man that owned it,I bought it at his yard sale...he had it as a make an offer type kind of deal and had two names on a list with two offers, one at $125.00 and another for $145.00..it was the end of the day and he said $175.00 and I offered $150.00 and he accepted my offer.Sweeet...I knew it was a deal...now I asked him if this was everything and he said he believed so and he lives just down the road a bit so I may go back and see if he found anything else that he may have missed. For me it's plug two wires into the receiver and voila!..music...but this Passive Link and Link converter stuff..don't know jack about..I'm not planning on connecting it to a tv or anything else just want the speakers,cd,cassette, record player and the tuner up and running..If I just had some good pictures of these componets connected I think I could get it done....but it sounds like you can help me....and thank you.
Hi,Stephanie here I received your message and thank you so very much for taking your time to help me with this,I will take pictures of everything I have and maybe we can go from there.I did discover the rear panel on the 5500 Tuner.Everything powers up Cassette player plays and indicators on front show that as well as the CD player and the Record Player , remotes power up with indicator displays...but when it comes to the BEO Link Converter , BEO Link Passive and the BEO LAB 4000 I get lost. I have the manual for the Record Player/CD player and the Master Control Panel 5500.I have been looking for a manual for the tuner online but have not found that yet...so if you can help I would be very grateful.
By tuner I am assuming you mean the receiver, which includes the tuner, amplifier and preamplifier, all in one unit. B&O calls it the Beomaster 5500.
You should be able to download the manual from this site, but if not, let me know and I will send a copy to you.
Hope this helps.

Stephanie,
I just typed a second message to you and tried to attach a file to it. The file attachment didn't work and I lost the message I had typed.
So, I suggest that we try using the private message option. And from there, if you want copies of the manuals, go to email.
I will send you a private message and include my personal email address. If you feel comfortable doing it, then send your personal email address. Once I have that I can send to you lots of catalogues, manuals, advertisements, etc. for the BeoSystem 5500 and all the components.
I purchased a disk with all B&O catalogues on it. So, what I have not found online, I have on that disk. I would be glad to share that information with you, and answer any questions you have about the operation of the BeoMaster 5500 receiver/tuner/amp/preamp.
