This seems to be the end of Loewe:

Maybe the name Loewe could be sold to an interested foreign manufactorer of tv/hifi 😏

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Wow. And they were looking like they were picking up customers from B&O.

Terrible news, My local dealer has a comprehensive range of Loewe along their B&O offering, and a range i was considering if i opened a store. A shame as their new TV's look amazing
Could the forum topic not be "Loewe cease operations" Would make sense really.
A more explanatory title to the thread would possibly have been helpful.
That's very interesting! Despite everything B&O has outlasted Loewe. Sad though for all the Loewe aficionados.
Very bad information!
Premium video devices seems to be on decline.
One competitor less and a shrinking market.
Not very good for B&O.
Without a credible audio range, B&O loses the integration offer which was it's strengh.
I'm worried for the future.
Yann.

It's sad to see an illustrious name go, but it has seemed to me that, for a long time, they have been trying to survive on designs that look like cheap B&O knock-offs. Just my opinion...
Barry Santini:Can anyone say “soundbar”?
I still don't think a soundbar will be the saviour of B&O. I think it will be too price-prohibitive for most users.
To be fair though, what B&O did do well was launch BeoPlay - something Loewe avoided. BeoPlay really has helped keep the brand alive. If they'd kept their TVs and expensive speakers, they'd have gone the same way as Loewe, probably before Loewe.

They tried their best, but ran out of cash. They didn't have much to sell off like B&O - who had Medicom, Automotive, factories to sell and lease back, plus a highly profitable ride the name' brand like Play to see them through.
I genuinely feel sorry for Loewe. As I understand, the Germans are as proud of Loewe as the Danes are of Bang & Olufsen - so it must be a real disappointment to see this.
Audio Visual has become so commoditised now. There will always be room for a premium brand, but demand has simply shrunk. There have been casualties, and I'm sure there will be more.

Seems kind of ironic Lee, you had just picked up Loewe before you closed your business. Now Loewe has totally cratered and B&O still has it's problems. Either you or the brands you choose seem to be cursed.
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
That's pretty much how I started out. I had a Beogram for about a decade before I got more into it. When the BS9000 and BL8000 hit it was the first time I lusted so much after stereo gear because of the design/cool factor. So, I got it. Increased my stuff over time, now sadly they have nothing that really interests me much.
Maybe there is some hope on the horizon, I hope so because my bild 5 has some software glitches!

It would be a good thing to ask for the service manuals. If the TV breaks after the end of the warranty, a skilled technician may be be able to repair it.
