Watching Glastonbury acts on a BV11-46 with BL8000 front and BL6000 rears, absolutely stunning.

Really makes you appreciate the quality of B&O kit.

Well done B&O!

Mrs. S. and I were saying the same thing last night whilst watching The Cure's set on Beovision Eclipse 65", Beolab 90s and Beolab 8000s at highly antisocial volume. Luckily, we have no neighbours nearby! Big Smile

We’ve recently paired our Eclipse to some Beolab 17s, which are hidden away on bookshelf’s. My son put the newer Tron Blu-ray Disc in after it sounded dreadful on Apple TV. Our subtle little setup exploded into life so much that it had to be turned way way down.

The Eclipse tucks itself away nicely, and the 17s seem to disappear. Whatever Geoff Martin has dome with them I no not, but pound for pound they’re amazing. WISA works flawlessly. Where else could we get such tech?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Actually I have that experience rather often.

Two days ago my son brought his Aquaman bluray disc, which we then saw.....and heard.

People tend to say that the bas is way too heavy there.

I did not feel that - pretty balanced sound on my - rather humble - setup......but boy oh, boy - there is something going on there 👍

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I realize it every time I put it on or visit a friend. Ever since 1991.

Beovision 7-55 MK1 red, Beolab 10 red. Beolab 50, all black. Beolab 17 broken ice. Beolab transmitter. Apple tv4 and apple express 2.

I really like B&O speakers. I have my beolab 6000 and 8000 pair for almost 15 years now and the Beolab 2 subs are almost 10 as far as I can recall, and they all perform great. My most recent B&O purchase was the A9 and I love the audio. Their products last and last...which is fortunate since they have very limited support in the US.

However, when it comes to TV and multiroom software, I no longer user B&O products. However, I am glad their products work well with 3rd party TVs and software such as AirPlay 2.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

Blu-ray's have uncompressed extremely high-quality audio. Streamed HD uses very compressed audio. The file size differences are massive. Like 4GB for a stream compared to over 25GB for a Blu-ray movie, mostly thanks to the audio content. Makes a huge difference on a decent setup.

Uncompressed audio takes up GBs of space. The picture quality between, say, a HD (or 4K) iTunes stream and a Blu-ray is negligible at best. However, the difference with the audio quality between the two formats can be phenomenal.

...every time when I (or mostly "we"), watch content, which is accompanied with nice music. Like e.g. the beginning of "The Crown", the series from "Endeavour Morse" or any other own material on Bluray or (legitimate) downloaded.

For me every time nice music is added to videocontent, it's something like 1+1 makes 3.

But for me (having still at the moment a FHD BV9mk5), just wondering how crappy compressed videocontent on cable or satelite, will look like on an 4K telly in future.
