I Currently have problems with the Beocord 7000.
The Beocord stops after rewinding after approx. 1 to 2 seconds. The auto-reverse does not work either, also stops after approx. 1 to 2 seconds.

Does anyone know where this problem can be?

Thanks.

- Bad belt(s)
- Wrong belt(s)
- Dried lubricants in motor and/or reel tables
- Electronic fault
- Any combination of the above.

Dear Bertus,

I have exactly the same problem, which persists after belt replacement. Notably, the reverse winding speed and the backside playback are fast and fine, respectively, until the system decides to terminate any further motion after the noted 1-2 seconds.

Did you solve the problem, or get it solved?

Many thanks,

Kay

Hi Kay,

Thanks for your e-mail.

The problem with the autoreverse I solved this by myself by renewing all the belts.

Beocord 7000 – Beoparts-shop (beoparts-shop.com)

But (I have three Beocord 7000) one of them But one still has problems with the playback speed and autoreverse, which can be seen on the test tapes that I have with the help of a Tektronix / Philips oscilloscope.

I will first replace all rubbers and then I will look at the electronics.

If you have the one-belt drive version, check the small wheel at the corner of the drive.
It can bind in dry lubricants. Clean and re-lubricate.

Many thanks Bertus and Martin for your very quick answers!

I actually have the 3-belt drive, and just replaced all 3 of them. The smallest belt drives the little wheel which, with a detection mechanism not very obvious (small magnet in wheel?) triggers the speed detector. This wheel spins nicely, but could the detector have an issue? I guess this is more or less a question out of desperation, as this is one of the few accessible parts of the mechanism. I did lubricate the axels holding the tape and played with the tightness of the small screws holding them from the top, but no effect with repect to the problem at hand.

Any further idea would be very appreciated.

All the best,

Kay
