We have built a new porch (with glass doors) and of course it needs a speaker.

Thought a second or so of a WiFi/Bluetooth solution, but decided to move out one of the Beolab 2000. Nothing beats the planing and the art of master linking. As much as I love cables, I hate the look of them.

Next to the porch is the kitchen where I have a hub for all sorts of cabling hidden in a cupboard, just a few meters from the speaker placement. But reaching it needed a 12 meter ML cable through the garage and basement and passing two walls (one in concrete) and the floor, and also a 3 meter power cable.

Ordered the ML cable from Steve at Sounds Heavenly, with just one plug as the other end will go to a junction box. The cable was delivered in just a few days, and was perfect stripped to fit in the junction box. Thank you Steve!

The toughest part was to empty and move a bookshelf in the basement, and then place everything back. Knowledge is heavy.

Always a little nervous after finished the connection work before the testing, as it’s hard to troubleshoot a malfunctioning master link system. But the Beolab responded perfectly, and I’m now enjoying good music everywhere in the house.

I’ve connected an Airport Express to the BeoSound 9000 so we can enjoy streamed music as well.

Just wanted to share some old fashion pure happiness.

However, from a electricity safety regulation perspective in Seweden such an installation is not allowed.

You are not allowed to pull the mains cable through a wall like that.

Mains has to be terminated in a wether proofed box.

All such installs has to be done by a certified electrician.

It has to be terminated in a box (or a wall socket) on the wall on the outside. Also, there needs to be protection on the circuit (“jordfelsbrytare” in Swedish) .

Noted that it was a porch with glass doors. Then the requirements may be a bit relaxed, but still I would check with an expert so that no insurances are void or the speaker gets dangerous.

Again, its looks really nice where it is installed. I just want you to be safe

I carry my Beolit 15 out to my glasses balcony for music. Portable, Bluetooth and better sound than Beolab 2000. No need for cables either. But anyway, nice setup

I have a BeoPlay A2 as well, and are actually also looking at BeoSound 1/2 with Google Voice Assistant. Step 1 there is asking SHMBO for what colour she likes best, but made the mistake having the price visible.
