Hi! As I read a bv 11 review I came across a "quick start" posibility.

My question is: is it posible also for bv 10?

The lag between start command and seeing the image is annoying.

Thanks!

Liviu

Hi Liviu,

if you use the internal Tuner you will always have the lag, that's what my dealer told me (lag = time for Beovision 10 to start + clock until picture shows up, in my case a MK 1).

Using now an external tuner, the lag is non existent (= only time for Beovision 10 to start, than the electronic curtain and the picture shows up).

Kind regards,

Rolf

Rolf,

I am not using the internal tuner and still have the lag. What should I do?

Then it is the second scenario. So it's the time for Beovision 10 to start until the picture shows up?

You can't avoid this, sorry.

Kind regards,

Rolf

Quckstart with my TechniSat round 20sec. (receiver always running, not in standby, even you switch it off). "Normal" boot time round 42 sec., same as internal B&O tuner.

@hotknife: Good idea to measure boot time. I have approximately 17 s from on to picture. What means "normal"?

Kind regards,

Rolf

P. S.: Please ignore previous post, I sent unfortunately too early by accident and then recognized it is in the "wrong" language, sorry.

The picture from my BV10 comes from an « Internet Box », linked with HDMI and control with the PUC.

If the Box is already on, the BeoVision starts quickly. Electronic curtain reveals the image of the last channel on the Box.

If the Box is off, the BeoVision starts first, and then, it starts the Box, so the electronic curtain effect is not here, and the time to boot and reveal the picture is really long to come.

Rolf,

I do not use the quick start of the TechniSat, because if you use the quick start function, the receiver with its fan is always running and consuming power. It takes round 42 sec. if I use the TechniSat with the standard routine. Takes the same time with the inbuilt B&O HD-tuner. But I always use the TechniSat, because the B&O unit is crap (switching time, range of functions, software bugs). Maybe the newer one of the BV11 with its 500 GB record is a step forward. I have not heart a single person speaking well of the B&O HD-tuner (retailer & user).

Power Saving may have some impact on startup time, according to my dealer.

Have not tried myself.

See manual:

That`s one of many reasons, why people recommend again and again the Dreambox.

Startup time from standby - both, BV and Dreambox/no deep standby - and with curtain:

BV7 - 11 sec.

BV10 - 15 sec.

You will find the quickstart option only for the internal tuners in BV11 and BV V1 - with new video engine.
