I know BW is notoriously slow and unstable, but gone for a most of the day - that is unusual ?

Hi,

There were some power issues, Keith will be better placed than me to comment but it looks as though all is working again now....

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

I had the same problem as well... I tried to access the forum, even the main beoworld.org site, but couldn't at all. I wonder if there was some maintenance or issues causing the site to be down today.

Hi everyone,

Sorry about the outage, I've had this update from Keith:-

Apologies, yes the Beoworld server was down. Friday morning at 2am UK time we lost power to the whole area due to a lighting strike.  When power was back one of the four disks and a controller had failed.

Many thanks to Keith for getting the hardware repaired quickly, normal service should now be resumed......

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

Sorry - I was supposed to post on this last night but fell asleep!  It's been a long week...

Yes, as Steve said - a lightning strike basically ripped through the server. Keith was due to go away on business for 10 days but worked tirelessly all day yesterday to get the parts and repair the server. Something like 20Tb of data then needed uploading, checking, and then the system back to up and running.

We were very, very close to being down until the 23rd July - so thank you Keith.

Thanks a whole lot!

How about a picture of the Beoworld server ?
